Preschool Lesson Plans For Children Age 2-3. I just wanted to take a few moments to explain what I have done with these lessons. I used Michelle Lewis'. Skills List for Age 2 as a guide. I have also gathered ideas from various sources and incorporated some of them throughout the lessons. I want to put links here for some of the websites that I refer to in the lessons: Calvary Chapel ( ). This site has hundreds of lessons to print that include fill in the blank, verses to memorize, coloring pages, puzzles, etc. Free Online Phonics ( ). Go to this site to see all about this free phonics program that is available online. As the teacher, you will have to take a test and be approved before they give you access to the lessons. They want to be sure that you are serious about teaching your child to read. I have done this and it is a neat program. It includes games to play, songs to sing, etc. Even though this is really for Children age 4-5, Children age 2-3 can benefit from the games and songs as well.

These are lessons are only a guide for you. Do as much or as little as you have time for. Most important of all make it fun! Learning should be fun! Don't force your child at this age please! This is merely a guide for you that will give you ideas of things you can do. I wasn't really wanting to do a formal Preschool . curriculum with my 2 year old son, but wanted some kind of schedule so I would know what to focus on. If I. don't have a schedule a lot of times things don't get done. I hope that this schedule will allow me to use my quality time with him in a productive manner. I hope it helps you as well! Use egg carton and have child put 1 item in each section. Science/Health Concept: God made everything. (Teach in daily conversation). Teach safety around the house. Social Studies Learn family members' names. Readiness Skills Work on sitting still while Mom reads. Color: Red Find things around the house that are red. Sort Legos by color especially the RED ones. Manners/Helping Learn to say Please . Music Learn OBEY song (Donut Man). Clap to music Personal Care Learn to wash hands and face before and after meals. Physical Movement Hopping & Jumping (do during math activity).

4 Week 2 - August Bible/Sp. Growth Read Adam & Eve story several times this week. Do coloring page (Calvary Chapel website). Character Trait: Obedience Verse: Eph. 6:1 Children obey your parents .. Phonics/Reading/Writing Read books every day. Teach that you read books left to right, top to bottom. Keep learning alphabet song Math Number of the Week: 2. Count objects around the house (1-5). Hop 2X, Clap 2X, Jump 2X, etc. Do a #2 coloring page. Use egg carton and have child put 2 item in each section. (Review #1). Science/Health Teach safety around the house. Social Studies Learn family members' names. Readiness Skills Keep working on sitting still while Mom reads. Color: Red Wear something red this week. Sort Legos by color especially the RED ones. Manners/Helping Learn to say Please . Music Learn OBEY song (Donut Man). Clap to music Personal Care Learn to wash hands and face before and after meals. Use egg carton and have child put 3 item in each section. (Review #1, and #2). Science/Health Concept: God made everything. (Teach in daily conversation). Social Studies Learn family members' names. Readiness Skills Keep working on sitting still while Mom reads. Shape: Circle Find round things around the house. Draw circles with sidewalk chalk. Manners/Helping Learn to say Thank-you . 6 Physical Movement Hopping & Jumping (do during math activity). Week 4 - August Bible/Sp. Growth Read Adam & Eve Are Tempted story several times this week. Do coloring page (Calvary Chapel website). Character Trait: Obedience Verse: Eph. 6:1 Children obey your parents .. Phonics/Reading/Writing Read books every day. Keep learning alphabet song. Practice tracing straight lines. Math Number of the Week: 4. Count objects around the house (1-5). Hop 4X, Clap 4X, Jump 4X, etc. Do a #4 coloring page. Use egg carton and have child put 4 item in each section. (Review #1, #2, & #3). Science/Health Teach safety around the house. Social Studies Learn family members' names. Readiness Skills Keep working on sitting still while Mom reads. Shape: Circle Have child wear circle shaped sticker during the week-have him/her recall several times a day what the shape is. Have child try to make circle on floor with body or use both arms over their head to make a circle.

7 Manners/Helping Learn to say Thank-you . Music Learn OBEY song (Donut Man). Clap to music Personal Care Learn to wash hands and face before and after meals. Physical Movement Hopping & Jumping (do during math activity). Week 5 - August Bible/Sp. Growth Character Trait: Obedience Bible verse: Children obey your parents .. Eph. 6:1. Coloring page relating to obedience. Phonics/Reading/Writing Read books every day. Keep learning alphabet song. Practice tracing straight lines. Math Number of the Week: 5. Count objects around the house (1-5). Hop 5X, Clap 5X, Jump 5X, etc. Do a #5 coloring page. Use egg carton and have child put 5 item in each section. (Review #1, #2, #3, and #4). Science/Health Concept: God made everything. Teach through daily conversation. Social Studies Learn family members' names. Readiness Skills Keep working on sitting still while Mom reads. Color: Red Sort M&M's by color then eat the red ones!

8 Shape: Circle have some round crackers for snack. Manners/Helping Reinforce saying Please and Thank-you . Music Learn OBEY song (Donut Man). Clap to music Personal Care Learn to wash hands and face before and after meals. Physical Movement Hopping & Jumping (do during math activity). Week 6 - September Bible/Sp. Growth Read Cain & Abel story several times this week. Do coloring page (Calvary Chapel website). Character Trait: Prayer Memorize short prayer before meal (God is great, God is good ..). Phonics/Reading/Writing Read books every day. Reminder books are precious and we need to take care of them. Continue singing alphabet song. Trace curved and zigzag lines. Math Numbers of the Week: 1-5. Count objects around the house (1-5). Review #1 to #5 coloring pages. Use egg carton and have child put 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 items in each section. Write numbers 1-5 very large on sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. Have child hop on each number and say the number together.

9 Science/Health Learn names of outside objects (sky, trees, grass, sun, etc.). Continue to teach safety around house. Social Studies Continue to learn family members' names. Readiness Skills Keep working on sitting still while Mom reads. Color: Yellow find things around the house that are yellow. Find all the yellow Legos! Manners/Helping Learn to say Excuse me.. Music Play instruments (guitar, drums, pots & pans) while listening and singing to music. Personal Care Learn to comb/brush hair. Physical Movement Playing catch with ball (do during math). Week 7 - September Bible/Sp. Growth Read Noah story several times this week. Do coloring page (Calvary Chapel website). Character Trait: Prayer Memorize short prayer before meal (God is great, God is good ..). Phonics/Reading/Writing Read books every day. Continue singing alphabet song. Do sequencing worksheets (before, after, what comes next), matching. Math Continue to review numbers 1-5; Count objects around house (1-5).

10 Play game: Tell child to hop, jump, clap ___times. (use #'s 1-5). Do worksheet (big/small comparison). Go around house and say things like, What is bigger than this cup . and have the child find something. Be creative! Science/Health Learn names of outside objects (sky, trees, grass, sun, etc.). Continue to teach safety around house. Social Studies Continue to learn family members' names. Readiness Skills Keep working on sitting still while Mom reads. Shape: Square - Draw a square with sidewalk chalk. Snack: Break a graham cracker in two and have a square cookie sandwich with frosting in the middle! Manners/Helping Learn to say You're welcome.. Music Play instruments (guitar, drums, pots & pans) while listening and singing to music. Personal Care Learn to comb/brush hair. Physical Movement Playing catch with ball (do during math). Week 8 September Bible/Sp. Growth Read God Sends a Great Flood & God's Covenant stories several times this week.
