1 PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING AN NHRA LICENSE 1. Driver must first have the NHRA Physical. 2. Driver s car must be NHRA Certified. 3. Driver MUST wear the proper Safety Equipment on all Runs A. Includes gloves B. Fire jacket & pants C. Neck Collar D. If door car, a window net 4. On the NHRA Form A. Blind fold cockpit orientation (to see if driver can reach all safety shutoffs and parachute) B. Run #1 Half track pass to the quarter mile then record that pass on form C. Run #2 Moderate Run accelerate to 1000 then record the run on the form D. Run #3 Moderate Run about the same as run #2 then record on the form E. Run #4 Moderate Run, maybe a little further then record on the form F. Runs 5 and 6 Full Runs must be quicker than sec then record on the form 5. Fill out the LICENSE Form Completely, including all information on left, then have 2 licensed drivers sign and date.
2 Driver must also sign and date form. 6. Then and only then bring the form to the Track Manager to have him sign-off on the runs. THEN MAKE COPIES FOR YOURSELF AND MAIL THE ORIGINALS INTO NHRA DIVISION ONE YOU MUST INCLUDE THE NHRA MEMBERSHIP FEE IF YOU ARE NOT AN NHRA MEMBER. All drivers competing in NHRA Professional, Alcohol, Competition, Advanced , Super Comp, Super Gas, certain Super Stock classes as defined by current NHRA rules, Super Street, TopComp, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Snowmobile, ATV, Pro Mod, certain Nostalgia, Special Fuel and cars or Motorcycles with a dial-in of or quicker ( to for eighth-mile) or135 mph or faster (excludes motorcycle) are required to have a valid NHRA Competition LICENSE and NHRA All LICENSE applicants must be at least 16 years old. The minimum age for any professional category applicant is 18 years of All licensed drivers are required to pass an NHRA physical examination every two (2) years, TF and FC required to take an annual physical.
8 Any matter in thisexamination, including without limitation any condition or medication may be referred to an NHRA medical consultant for review, and may be cause for Drivers must be in possession of temporary or permanent NHRA LICENSE Certificate and NHRA Membership to be eligible for competition in any category that requires an NHRA Competition Drivers may not drive more than one car in the same category at any NHRA LICENSE and competition numbers are issued as a unit and are valid for two years from date of physical examination; TF or FC is valid for one The LICENSE does not convey a right but rather conveys a revocable privilege to participate in Class 4 LICENSE runs can be completed at an eighth-mile track. For Class 1, 2 or 3 LICENSE , runs 1, 2, 3 & 4 can be completed at an eighth-mile track, but runs 5 & 6 mustbe completed at a quarter-mile Drivers who have not competed (or have let their NHRA LICENSE expire) for a period of two (2) years will have to meet all NEW DRIVER REQUIREMENTS.
9 For TF and FC who have notcompeted for two years, LICENSE will become inactive, three (3) test runs will be required to re-activate; see runs 4, 5 and 6. Test runs must be completed at an NHRA Member If any test runs are older than one year, runs 4, 5 and 6 must be re-done and completed at an NHRA Member In accordance with the Applicant s Affirmation and Agreement on the front of this document, all drivers are subject to NHRA s rules and regulations in connection with their participationin any NHRA or NHRA member track event.
