The system has been tested in full scale configuration at anindependent testing laboratory and has certified to have met the Department of Statetesting Document Dated April 1985 with a Rating of K4/L1. Gross VehicleWeight: 15,000 kN Crash Speed: 30 mph/48kph 16 FOOT VERSION TESTED TOASTM 2656 M30 and ASTM 2656 M40 (K4,K8) in 2009.
2 Available in 12 and 16 foot clearopeningsThe MP5000 is configured for expedited deployment and, as needed, retrieval and Barrier System can be sited on existing concrete or asphalt roadways or verges; levelcompacted soils or a combination of these. No excavation or sub-surface preparation isrequired. The MP5000 is a Phalanx Type Barrier Ramp totally self-contained with a freepassage between buttresses of 12 ft. (3, 65M.) or 16 ft. ( M).The Barricade is deployed after being towed to the site and then lowered into position by meansof hydraulic jacks. No hand cranking required. Once sited the wheels are stored and thenvehicle ramps are folded out, completed the deployment.
3 Estimated deployment time- 15 to 20minutes. The barrier retrieved time 12-18 standard system has a BATTERY OPERATED Hydraulic Power Unit, maintained andrecharged from either a Solar Array, an Internal Battery Charger (operated on a local powersource), a Field Interchangeable Rechargeable Battery Pack or from other local low voltagesources. The control point can be at the Barrier, or at an adjacent control site, or by a hand heldcontrol module on a 'plug-in' umbilical cable. The Hydraulic Power Unit can be located on theBarricade or positioned DELTA Hydraulic Power Unit operated on locally supplied power can be specified inlocations where suitable local power is available.
4 Both the Locally Powered and the BatteryPowered Hydraulic Pumping Units can be sized to provide pass-through rates suitable for mostinspection and identification station operating modes include, full automatic, remote-hard line, remote-radio, card reader, key switch, local guard push button station, master(s) and slave(s) control etc. - or bycombination SCIENTIFIC CORPORATIONPALMDALE, CALIFORNIA 93551 * Optional Feature** Customer SpecifiedCopyright 2009 DELTA Scientific CorporationPage 2 of 7 All Rights ReservedProcurement Specification: MODEL MP5000 (10-05-2009)GENERAL LICENSESThe CRASH CERTIFIED Phalanx Barrier System shall be fully licensed for manufactureunder Patents Numbers 6,382,869, dated May 7, 2002 (Above Grade MassDisplacement Trafficway Barrier), 5,560,733 dated Oct.
