It has a different look this year. We have taken the challenges surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and turned them into opportunities by making the annual meeting a virtual late August of 2020, when the worldwide pandemic forced the cancellation of the annual meeting in Cape Town, the TIAFT Board understood that an annual meeting must still occur.

2 Despite the shortened window to plan and execute the event, we knew it was possible to do just as Phileas Fogg knew it was possible to travel the world by hot air balloon in Around the World in 80 Days. But unlike Phileas, we did not have a wager in place to motivate us, but instead were driven by the desire to bring our TIAFT members together once it is 2022 now, so instead of 80 days, you will get to travel the world with your friends and professional colleagues in just three days through our program themed Around the World in 80 Talks.

3 I hope you will take full advantage of the engaging scientific presentations, top-notch vendor sessions, and creative networking opportunities. Additionally, there will be ceremonies, celebrations, and awards typical of all our TIAFT Annual Meetings. Keep in mind that as we travel the world, we will engage with different time zones, so the event will be available live and on demand for 3 months post the 58th Annual Meeting of TIAFT. And please remember that our 59th Annual Meeting is later this year in Versailles, France when we hope to join each other once again at an in-person A.

This email included a helpful instructional guide. Please note that your log in details must not be shared with anyone else, as they are unique to you. A computer, laptop or tablet A stable internet connection Computer speakers Microphone and webcam (not mandatory for participants but handy if you wish to participate in the Meeting Hub or Exhibitor Meetings) A paid meeting registration Which browsers are compatible for the virtual conference?

7 Most browsers can be used including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Safari on iPad. Please note Internet Explorer is NOT recommended and is not a supported browser. When first logging in to the virtual meeting platform, you will be prompted to enable/allow connection to your webcam and microphone. Click to allow this to enhance your virtual meeting experience as it will enable you to interact with other to logging into the platform, we strongly suggest you complete the following steps to optimise your virtual meeting experience: 1.

8 Restart your computer closing off any unnecessary programs and browser windows. 2. Check your internet connection. 7 Networking with other attendeesTo connect with an attendee, click on their name in the list on the left and click the connect button. They will immediately receive a pop-up notification advising them that you wish to connect and will have the option to accept. Once the attendee has accepted your invitation to connect, they will appear in your Meeting Hub under connections . Once they are your connection, you will be able to interact via call, live instant chat, message and to schedule a hubThe Meeting Hub allows you to see a list of all TIAFT 2022 VIRTUAL participants.

9 Connect and network with other attendees via video or text chat and exchange business cards to connect further outside of this event. Enter the Meeting Hub by clicking the green Networking button in the Main Lobby. Personalised agendaAttendees can utilise the star icon next to the title of any program listing to note their favourite sessions. This creates a personal agenda that can be accessed via the star icon on the virtual exhibitionThe Virtual Exhibition allows you to view and interact with the TIAFT 2022 sponsors and exhibitors.

10 You can access it by pressing the Exhibition in the platform Virtual Exhibition will be open at dedicated times during the meeting which are specified in the program overview. During these times, you can interact with representatives from those organisations through video and/or chat. At all other times, you can access and view the sponsor and exhibitor inside the Virtual Exhibition, you will be able to view the sponsor and exhibitor virtual stands. If there are virtual exhibition stand staff available for you to meet live, you will be able to request a live video organisers have made every attempt to ensure that all information in this program/abstract book is correct.
