THE UNIVERSITYThe Indira Gandhi National Open University established in 1985 through an Act of Parliament,ranks as one of the premier educational institutions in the world.

UNIVERSITY AccessAccess to the PROGRAMME is open to all subject to fulfilment of minimum eligibility and Reimbursement of FeeReserved categories, viz. Scheduled Castes. Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and PhysicallyHandicapped students have to pay the fee at the time of admission to the University along with Handicapped students admitted to IGNOU are eligible for Government of Indiascholarships.

9 They are advised to collect scholarship forms from the respective State GovernmentsDirectorate of social Welfare or the office of the social Welfare Officer and submit the filled-informs to them through the Regional Director , SC/ST and other Backward Class students have to submit their scholarship forms to therespective State Directorates of social Welfare or to the Office of the social Welfare Officer, throughthe concerned Regional Director of IGNOU for reimbursement of PROGRAMME of Admission ListsCandidates who are offered admissions have to join on or before the due dates specified by theUniversity.

10 In case they want to seek admission for the next session, they have to apply afresh andgo through the admission process and Late ApplicationsIncomplete and late application forms/re-registration forms and forms furnishing false informationcan be rejected without any intimation to the candidates. The candidates are, therefore, advised tofill the relevant columns carefully and attach attested copies of all the necessary certificates askedfor, and submit the form on or before the due RegistrationA student is permitted to register for only one PROGRAMME in a given academic session.
