1 1 The Bus, The Bus, The B-U-S A Flash Mob Performance By Mary Engquist A short skit. This skit is perfect for including all of your talented kids that can sing and dance. It s perfect for a retirement skit for teachers, school bus drivers, etc. Cast: -Joey & Carrie (Jr. or high school kids) Mr. Moore (school bus driver) -A group of kids (dancers & singers) Scene: A bus stop setting; standing or sitting on a bench waiting for the school bus. Joey has his shoes off. Props: A large sign that reads The bus, the bus, the B-U-S Joey: You say that the bus is never late, but then why is it almost time for school to start, and we re still sitting on the corner, waiting, and waiting?

2 Carrie: Come on now, Joey, you are so impatient. You know that Mr. Moore has been late since we were in grammar school. Joey: Then go tell it to the mountain; go tell it to the mountain. (Joey is trying to sing the song but cannot carry a tune.) Carrie: No, Joey! Go tell it to our teacher. I would have thought that you would ve grown up by now, and that you would have learned how to sing. You better stick to your dancing. Now put your shoes on before the bus gets here. Joey: Yeah, yeah. You act like I am in first grade. Remember how we always sang, The bus, the bus the B-U-S ? 2 Carrie: Yeah, I do. But we were so young!

3 Now we have moved up on the scale. Joey: What do you mean? Carrie: It s simple: Let s do a flash mob performance when the bus comes instead of The bus, the bus, the B-U-S . We will do the flash mob. The mob, the mob, the M-O-B. Joey: Well, that s one way to get a rise out of Mr. Moore. But what can we do? Do you sing or dance? Carrie: Are you kidding? I can sing and you can dance we will flash mob it after he pulls up. Joey: Oh, look, here comes the bus. (Carrie and Joey are looking towards the bus that just pulled up and they are getting ready for their performance. Then, all at once, Mr. Moore jumps off the bus with all the other kids and they start dancing and singing to your choice of music and dance.)

4 Carrie: Wait a minute! They are flash mobbing us! (She yells) Joey: They beat us to it. Come on, let s join them. (At the end of the flash mob, a sign is held towards the audience that reads , The Bus, the bus, the B-U-S . The sign can be a letter from each word that a few kids hold while the others behind them dance.) The End
