Prosonic FMU Operation and Signal Processing Principle of Operation An ultrasonic pulse emitted from the sensor is reflected back by the surface of the material or liquid and is received by the same sensor as an echo signal. The product height or water level is then calculated from the run time of the ultrasonic signal (echo level determination).
