Table of contents and contact details for Christine Khoza and Angela Ngyende have been added. Rounding of numbers may have resulted in a single digit difference in some figures. Person indicators: o Youth (aged 15-34 years) figures and proportions have been amended for all nine PROVINCES for CS 2016 due to outstanding data edits that were applied after the release.

2 O Persons aged 20 years+ who have completed Grade 12 have been amended for all nine PROVINCES for CS 2016 due to outstanding data edits that were applied after the release. Household indicators: o Piped water for 2011 was removed as the question was not phrased in the same way as in CS 2016 ; therefore the results are not completely comparable. o Groupings for piped water were revised for 2016 (Piped water and Other sources). o Groupings for toilet facilities were revised (Flush/chemical toilet, Other and None) for Census 2011 and CS 2016 .

3 O Groupings for electricity were revised for CS 2016 to include: Connected to electricity, Other sources, and No access to electricity. Changes pertaining to provincial figures/municipalities (i) Western Cape household indicators per municipality Total number of households (in CS 2016 ) for 103 DC3: Overberg have been revised to 91 835. Total number of households (in CS 2016 ) for 171 WC031: Theewaterskloof have been revised to 33 097. Total number of households (in CS 2016 ) for 104 DC4: Eden have been revised to 189 345.

4 Total number of households (in CS 2016 ) for 175 WC043: Hessequa have been revised to 17 371. Total number of households (in CS 2016 ) for 180 WC048: Knysna have been revised to 25 877. Total number of households (in CS 2016 ) for 199 CPT: City of Cape Town have been revised to 1 264 849. (ii) Eastern Cape household indicators per municipality Total number of households ( 2016 ) for 260 BUF: Buffalo City have been revised to 247 759. Total number of households ( 2016 ) for 299 NMA: Nelson Mandela Bay have been revised to 368 520.
