Public Affairs Section October 11, 2011 embassy , Gaborone, Botswana Media Advisory Capable Partners Project-End of Project Dissemination Meeting The embassy of the United States of America is pleased to announce that the End of Project dissemination meeting for the Capable Partners (CAP) project will take place on October 19, 2011 from 9:00 am 2:00 pm at the Gaborone Sun Hotel. The CAP project, which has been in operation since 2008, reached over 160,000 people in 13 districts in Botswana, established close partnerships with and among local organizations, and achieved concrete results in capacity-building to address the impact of HIV in Botswana.

1 Public Affairs Section October 11, 2011 embassy , Gaborone, Botswana Media Advisory Capable Partners Project-End of Project Dissemination Meeting The embassy of the United States of America is pleased to announce that the End of Project dissemination meeting for the Capable Partners (CAP) project will take place on October 19, 2011 from 9:00 am 2:00 pm at the Gaborone Sun Hotel. The CAP project, which has been in operation since 2008, reached over 160,000 people in 13 districts in Botswana, established close partnerships with and among local organizations, and achieved concrete results in capacity-building to address the impact of HIV in Botswana.

2 The US$ million CAP project was funded by the United States Government through the Agency for International Development. The End of Project event will provide project leaders the opportunity to disseminate key results and publications from the project. It will also allow local NGO partners to present their results, both in terms of how their organizations have developed and their experience implementing HIV prevention projects. District government and community leaders will also provide information regarding their experiences and disseminate a number of publications outlining successful practices in capacity building identified through the project, as well as technical tools aimed at upgrading the quality and effectiveness of HIV prevention communication.

3 Ambassador Michelle D. Gavin will present remarks at the event s opening ceremony beginning at 9:00 am at the Gaborone Sun Hotel. Local activist and hip-hop celebrity, KAST, who was involved in the embassy -supported hip-hop and HIV education music CD, Get Up and Go, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the day. Additionally, fellow artists from the Get Up and Go project will provide entertainment for the event.
