He signed a six- year contract with the Boilermakers. Hazell is in his third year at PURDUE , after spending two seasons as the head coach at Kent State. Hazell (HAY-zull) was named the 2012 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year after leading Kent State to arguably its most sucessful season ever, with an 11-3 record and MAC East Division cham-pionship.
