If you wish to review/develop your plan with your counselor, please schedule an appointment. Saturday School Saturday School is offered next Saturday, April 22nd, from 8-12 for students who are missing assignments and/or need to recover attendance.
2 You must contact your counselor prior to attending so we know to expect you. MD Leadership Workshop High School students looking for leadership opportunities should consider MLW. This is a week long experience at UMBC July 29th-August 4th. Scholarships are available. Contact your counselor if interested. See flyer for more details. McDaniel College Summer Science Programs There are a number of STEM science camps running for high school students. Students who attend can qualify for a $40,000 scholarship at McDaniel. Scholarship and Britton Burgess Academic and Career Scholarships Senior Awards Night Senior Awards Night is set for Wednesday, May 23, 2018. We plan to begin with a reception at 6:00pm and program at 6:30pm sharp. Seniors should plan to attend. Every effort will be made to notify recipients but often we do not know the recipient until that evening. Plan to attend. Baccalaureate Baccalaureate by definition is message to a graduate . The date for this event will be on Wednesday, May 31st at 6:30pm in the gym.
4 It is to be student planned and led. Any senior interested in helping to plan this year s Baccalaureate should contact Ms. Jones or Mr. Willis. 2018-2019 SCHEDULING UPDATE It is not too late for students to make changes to course requests. Please contact your counselor if you wish to make changes. Guidance and administration are working to ensure student accuracy in selections as well as develop course offerings. CTE selections will not be made until late April. ASVAB RESCHEDULE DATE The ASVAB administration, missed due to the snow days, has been rescheduled to Monday, April 16, 2018. This will be administered to juniors in English this semester.
5 Students will miss 1st & 2nd period. The ASVAB is one of the best instruments to match a student s interest and aptitude. Seniors wishing to take the test must sign up in guidance before April 12th. FALL SEMESTER 2018 DUAL ENROLLMENT REGISTRATION DAY Chesapeake will return on April 26th for registration. Students must be 16 years old to be eligible to enroll at Chesapeake. DE students receive a 25% discount on Chesapeake tuition rates. Further, students who receive Free or reduced lunch are eligible to take up to 4 classes tuition free. They will be billed for registration costs only. Contact your counselor for further details.
