2 INTRODUCTIONThe Receiver General assigns a department number to an organization that is authorized to use theConsolidated Revenue Fund and interface with the central systems operated by Public Works andGovernment Services Canada (PWGSC). The department number identifies the organization that isaccountable or responsible for the accuracy and completeness of transactions being processedthrough the central systems. Prerequisites for Assigning a Department NumberOrganizations listed in Schedules I, and II of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) will beassigned a separate department number by the Receiver Departmental Systems RequirementsOnce a department number has been assigned to an organization, it must develop interface with thecentral systems (Standard Payment System (SPS), Bank Facilities System (BFS), Regional PaySystem (RPS), Payroll System - General Ledger (PS-GL), Receiver General - General Ledger(RG-GL))

3 And Central Financial Management Reporting System (CFMRS)) and submit a separatetrial balance to CFMRS on a monthly basis. List of Departments and NumbersThe department numbers currently assigned to organizations that are authorized to use theConsolidated Revenue Fund and interface with the central systems operated by PWGSC areprovided in alphabetical order, sub-section and in numerical order, sub-section The department numbers are also to be used in the codes or accounts suffixed with ddd. In mostcases, the ddd would be substituted by your department number.
