1 RESOLUTION NO. 20B STATE OF CALIFORNIA. DECEMBER 14, 1948. BEFORE THE GOVERNING BOARD OF. THE CONTRA COSTA COMMUNITY FOUNDED, DECEMBER 14, 1948. COLLEGE DISTRICT. COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA. RESOLUTION APPROVING ADJUSTED TRUSTEE WARD AREAS . BASED ON 2020 CENSUS. WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Community College District (4CD) currently uses a by- TRUSTEE area election process to elect its governing board members from wards; and WHEREAS, Education Code Section requires school districts that elect by- TRUSTEE area to adjust the TRUSTEE area boundaries following each decennial federal census using population figures validated by the Population Research Unit of the Department of Finance; and WHEREAS, the adjustments shall ensure that the population of each TRUSTEE area is proportional pursuant to Education Code Section (a)(1) or (2); and WHEREAS, 4CD staff and legal counsel have prepared a draft ADJUSTED TRUSTEE area boundary plan for 4CD's consideration (the Plan, marked Exhibit A).
2 And two alternative plans that the Governing Board has considered; and WHEREAS, the Governing Board conducted a public hearing on December 8, 2021, and again on January 12, 2022, to receive public input and comment on the Plan and held a community roundtable on January 6, 2022; and WHEREAS, the Governing Board has considered all such public input and comment on the Plan; and WHEREAS, the Governing Board desires to adopt the Plan for use effective the November 2022 general election and thereafter until further ADJUSTED by the Governing Board. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the 4CD Governing Board as follows: 1. that the above recitals are true and correct;. 2. that the Governing Board hereby adopts the Plan; and . 3. that the Chancellor and/or his designee take all actions necessary to implement the Plan in time for the next Governing Board member election in November of 2022.
