GENERAL. ADOPTION OF RIVERTON CITY STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND PLANS MANUAL. RIVERTON City has adopted the following standards specifications, plans, and drawings as the basis for the RIVERTON City Standard Specifications and Drawings: RIVERTON City Standard Specifications and Plans Manual as included herein. APWA Manual of Standard Plans, 2017 Edition of the Utah Chapter of APWA (American Public Works Association) and the Associated General Contractors of America. APWA Manual of Standard Specifications, 2017 Edition of the Utah Chapter of APWA (American Public Works Association) and the Associated General Contractors of America. The RIVERTON City Standard Specifications and Plans Manual are available for download at The APWA Specifications and Plans manuals are available for purchase from Utah T2 Center (1-800-822-8878), and at select cities within the State of Utah (see for more information).

Modifications to these specifications may apply to specific projects. The following sections (General, ) reflect RIVERTON City Standard Specifications and Plans that may clarify, differ with, or be in addition to APWA Standard Specifications and Plans. Additional modifications may apply to specific projects. NOTE: 1. All construction within the city of RIVERTON must comply with the Standard Specifications and Plans Manual contained herein. 2. STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND PLANS. The following changes and modifications to the 2017 APWA Manual of Standard Specifications and Plans apply in RIVERTON City: A.

7 APWA PLANS: APWA Plan No. 205: RIVERTON City standard to be "Type A" unless specified otherwise. APWA Plan No. 225: Replace Table in Oblique with the following table: Street Type LENGTH. Y T R. Residential 6 6 5 FT. Other 24 24 10 FT. APWA Plan No. 231: Replace Table in Section A-A with the following table: Street Type T. Residential (With Park strip) 6 . Residential (No Park strip). 6 . Other Replacing existing sidewalk Match Existing (4 Min.). APWA Plan No. 235: 1. Replace Section 2. Products A-D with the following: A. ADA compliant cast iron plates, w/non-slip surface and natural finish. Cast iron plates shall be 24 by 24 and requires the use of two plates per ramp. 2. Replace Section 3, Execution, B-D with the following: B. Set two 24 x24 plates together in wet concrete with a smooth even seam in accordance with ADA guidelines and manufacture's recommendations. 8 APWA Plan No. 274: Replace all Sections (1-3) and Drawings (A, B, Detail 1) with the following: 1. General A. Survey monuments must be installed in accordance with the latest Salt Lake County Surveyor requirements. A permit must be obtained from the Salt Lake County Surveyor prior to the disturbance or installation of any monuments. APWA Plan No. 381: For all trenches cut into existing roadways and hard surface Right of Way: RIVERTON CITY. GENERAL. 1. Remove Part , Trench Backfill Above the Pipe Zone . 2. Replace Part with the following: B. Flowable Fill (controlled low strength material) is REQUIRED above the pipe zone per Section 31 05 15, Part Plate trench per RIVERTON City Plating Detail ENG-9, and cure the material before placing surface restorations. APWA Plans No. 761 and No. 762: Add the following to each plan: 1. Execution F. Speed bumps (and tables) shall be marked in accordance with the MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES (MUTCD) and figure 3B-29, option A.

9 Warning signs shall be installed in accordance with MUTCD section and supplemented with 20 MPH advisory speed plaques (W13-1) in accordance with MUTCD (MUTCD section ). Sign numbering and lettering shall be ASTM ASTM type IV high intensity prismatic sheeting. APWA Part 3 Storm Drains: Add the following to all Box/Manhole Plans in this Chapter (catch basins (315, 317), combination boxes (316), cleanout boxes (331, 332) and manholes (341)): 1. Submit a letter stamped and signed by the Project Civil Engineer stating they have reviewed the As-Built drawing prepared by the Land Surveyor and certify the site improvements as shown on the As-Built drawing conform to the approved design plans and drainage report.

10 RIVERTON CITY. GENERAL. CONSTRUCTION NOTES. TYPICAL. 1. Contractor assumes all responsibility for job site conditions during construction of this project, including the safety and well-being of all persons and property. This responsibility shall apply continuously and not be limited to normal working hours. 2. Contractor shall obtain all applicable permits and/or written agreements necessary to complete the work. 3. Contractor shall schedule a pre-construction meeting with RIVERTON City's Engineering Division at least 5 business days prior to the start of construction. Contractor must attend and bring one set of the approved construction plans and a copy of the current RIVERTON City Standard Specifications and Drawings (available for purchase at the RIVERTON City Engineering Office or download for free at ). 4. Contractor shall have in possession and on-site at all times one copy of the current approved construction plans stamped, signed and dated by the Contractor's Civil Engineer and RIVERTON City.
