6 Temporary bracingshould remain in place as longas necessary for the safe andacceptable completion of theroof or FLOOR and may remain inplace after permanent bracing is the responsibility of the installer toselect the most suitable method andsequence of installation available tohim which is consistent with theowner s (architectural) plans and speci-fications and such other informationwhich may be furnished to him prior to installation. TRUSSES may be installedeither by hand or by mechanical method generally depends uponthe span of the TRUSSES , their installedheight above grade, and/or the acces-sibility or availability of mechanicalinstallation equipment (such as a crane or forklift). The installer should be knowledgeableabout the truss design drawings, trussplacement plans, and all notes and cautions thereon.

If TRUSSES are stored horizontally, theblocking should be eight to ten footcenters to prevent lateral bending. If thetruss bundle is to be stored for morethan one week, the solid-blocking, generally provided by the receivingparty, should be at a sufficient heightto lessen moisture gain from theground. During long-term storage, trussesshould be protected from the elementsin a manner that provides for adequateventilation of the TRUSSES . If tarpaulins or other water resistant materials are used, the ends should be left open forventilation.
