2 After graduating, I took a year off to travel. The experience was a life changer as it opened my eyes to the career path I was to choose. Undergrad at Western, grad school at UW earning a MEd with a focus on counseling. Meeting the love of my life and creating our home together. Building a sucessful therapy pratice. Raising Rosie to be a happy, compassionate person. 3 I love laughter and sunshine. My husband and I have been happily married for 45 years, have raised two wonderful children and 3 grandchildren. I was in a career that I loved for 40 years. Now when former students come up to me and tell me that I have made a difference in their lives, I know that my time has been well spent. Mrs. Hanwieler was instrumental as a role model and influenced my decision to become a teacher. She cared so much for her students and truly wanted to see each and everyone succeed. And, she seemed to truly enjoy the art of teaching. I hope was able to inspire at least one child the way she inspired me. We have enjoyed many wonderful trips over the years, my favorite place being Ireland. We still have some places left to visit including Costa Rica and Alaska. A bucket list item that I haven t checked off yet is to see the Northern Lights.

4 Hopefully a trip to Alaska will take care of that! I had my 15 minutes of fame when on one of our trips to California several years ago, we got tickets to the Tonight Show. I was an audience member who was called on stage for a skit involving dancing. Lucky I took all those dance classes when I was a kid!Occupation:Spouse:Children/Grandchil dren:Retired City Light ManagerOccupation:50thQueen Anne High School Class of 1962 Alumni Updates Betty Johnson ParkerRetiredAl2 Children/ 3 GrandkidsHighlights from my life:Happily married for 45 years, love to hang out with the grandkids and travel when we can.
