It imports your printed or digital score material and song text into your computer forfurther editing. Every time you set up a new ScanScoredocument, you will see four buttons:The following pages describe the several methods to scan sheet music, import files oropen projects.
7 If you wish to import several pages, you can add them later via therespective symbols in the ScanScore toolbar or the File menu. Import from Scanner Import Image/PDF file(s) Import from App Open ScanScore ProjectScanScore 2 Manual7 / 26 Importing filesImporting image or PDF files is the easiest way to get your scores into ScanScore . To dothis, click the symbol or choose "Import Image/PDF file(s)" commandfrom the File menu. You can also use the shortcut Ctrl+G. Now you can browse to the fileyou wieh to import and open supports the following file formats: JPG JPEG BMP PNG TIF TIFF PDFHint: In order to get the best possible result in ScanScore , make sure that the displayednotes and staff lines in the imported file are as straight as possible. Also a good lightingas well as a high contrast and a resolution of 300 to 600 dpi are beneficial for asatisfactory result in ScanScore .
8 If the sheet document is inclined or the contrast is verylow, it is recommended to first adjust the file with an image processing program beforeimporting it into a scannerYou can use almost any scanner to scan in printed material. ScanScore supports allcommon TWAIN-compatible devices. Only specialised devices requiring unusual softwaremay cause scanning, you can either use the standard paramters (300 DPI, color), or you can beprompted to set up the parameters yourself every time. The option "Use advanced scandialog" can be toggled in the Preferences : For a good scan result, make sure to scan the notes as even as possible. Also ahigh contrast, the black/white setting as well as a resolution of 300 to 600 dpi arebeneficial for a good result in a smartphoneIf you own a smartphone, you can send pictures directly to ScanScore .
9 This requires theapp " ScanScore Capture", which is available for Android and starting the app for the first time, you will be asked to connect it to your computer. In this case a dialog window openswhere you can choose the pages that you want to import. When importing image files you can either import several images at once, or importthem one by one, repeating the import routine for every picture you want to.
