1 05-19-10 961 Screamin Eagle 120 Race kits and Race Crankcase Fitment purpose : This bulletin is to inform dealers that a Fitment issued has been discovered when installing and or machining crankcases for 120 race kit applications. Action Required: We have found a potential interference issue where the piston may hit the Crankcase during it s bottom dead center position. This is due to an improper case depth specification called out when boring the Crankcase for cylinder Fitment . Installation of 120 race kits p/n 30086-10 and 30087-10 into existing motorcycles cases (stock M.) required cylinder depth to be bored deeper than what the instruction sheet J04921 found with cylinder kit p/n 16550-04C or 16551-04C indicates. Instruction sheet J04921 has been corrected per revision 2010-05-03. The instruction sheet previously stated a cylinder bore depth of The correct depth required is In addition Screamin Eagle crank cases p/n 24601-10 also have the incorrect depth ( ) if installing a 120R race kit.

2 This depth is only incorrect for the installation of 120R kits . This depth ( ) will not be an issue with the installation of 113 race kits . Previous crankcases sold between February 2010 and April 2010 was bored to a depth of These can be corrected with minor material removal. The attached pages show how to correct this situation if you ve purchased Screamin Eagle cases or you have bored a set of cases. The interference is slight and will require the removal of some material at the bottom of the Crankcase bore. Install the bore cylinders on the Crankcase to see how much material extends out past the cylinders in the specific locations as noted in the diagrams. Scribe a mark along this material edge, remove cylinder and then proceed to remove material along the scribe mark. A die grinder will work well to remove this material. Mask off any exposed areas of bearings before material removal. Inspect bearings and oil passages to insure these areas are clean from debris after material removal.
