6 Responsibility remains with the architect or engineer, contractorand owner for the design, application and proper installation of each product. Specifier and user shall determine the suitability of productsfor specific application and assume all responsibilities in connection 2004 APPLICATION / DIRECTIONSSURFACE surfaces to be coated must be thoroughly cleanedof all scale, loose mortar, dust, rust, dirt, oil, grease and other foreign matter. 7 If primer is required, use SEALMASTIC SPRAY-MASTIC fromW. R. MEADOWS. Do not apply when temperatures below 35 F (2 C) areanticipated. Do not apply in rain or when rain is I (Spray Grade) and TYPE II (Brush or Spray Grade) should bethoroughly stirred in their respective containers prior to application. TYPE III (TrowelGrade) can be applied directly from the BELOW-GRADE DENSE SURFACESA pply TYPE II (Brush or Spray Grade) by soft bristle brush or suitable sprayequipment* or TYPE III by should be applied to properly prepared surfaces in a continuous,unbroken film, free of pinholes, filling and spreading around all joints, slots andgrooves and penetrating into all crevices, chases, reveals, soffits and corners.

8 Carrycoating over the exposed footing s top and outside edge up to finished : Fillers, extenders and additives in concrete mixes can produce a higher thannormal porosity and as a result, additional coverage coats may be required.*Consult spray equipment manufacturer for BELOW-GRADE POROUS SURFACES (3) OPTIONS1. MEMBRANE SYSTEM: For severe conditions or for added protection, apply one coat of TYPE II (Brush or Spray Grade) or TYPE III (Trowel Grade).Within four hours, apply a glass fabric membrane cloth over all coating surfaces. Overlap all edges by 3 (76mm) minimum. Press firmly into place without wrinkles.

9 Application of the second coat of TYPE II or TYPE III should be within 24 TWO-COAT SYSTEM:Apply SEALMASTIC SPRAY-MASTIC as a prime coat to dry tacky to touch and then apply TYPE III in one coat, as describedunder Dense Surface PARGE COAT SYSTEM:Before application of SEALMASTIC DAMPPROOFINGS, a pargecoat of cement mortar should be applied to the block wall. This coat should cover the bottom of the footings to grade level, forming a cove at the junction of the wall and footing. Once the parge coat cures, apply one trowel coat of TYPE III or two spray or brush coats of TYPE II, as described under Dense Surface should be done within 24 to 48 hoursafter application.

10 No longer than seven daysmaximum should elapse. Be careful not to damageor rupture the film or displace coating ormembranes. To assure maximum protection, Protection Board should be exposure to ultraviolet sunrays shouldbe ABOVE-GRADESURFACES-VAPOR RETARDERTYPE I (Spray Grade), TYPE II (Brush or SprayGrade) and TYPE III (Trowel Grade) can be usedindividually or in combination for dampproofingthe exterior face of interior walls in cavity still wet, material may beremoved with soap and water. Once dried, thematerial can be removed with kerosene orpetroleum naptha. Solvent manufacturerprecautions should be adhered to when using asolvent for clean from freezing in the original container.
