Security Issues and their Solution in Cloud Computing

2 There is also a possibility where amalicious user can penetrate the Cloud by impersonating a legitimate user,thusinfecting the entire cloudandaffects many customers who are sharing the infected Cloud . This paper firstly lists the parameters that affect thesecurity of the cloudthen itexplores the Cloud Security Issues and problems faced by Cloud service provider andcloud service consumer such as data, privacy,and infectedapplication and Security alsodiscusessometipsfortacklingthese issuesand TermsCloud Computing , Cloud SecurityKeywordsCloud Issues , Virtual machinelayer, Data Issues , Security Computing is a model for convenient and on-demand network access to a shared poolof configurable Computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released withminimal management efforts [1] [2].

3 In simple words, Cloud Computing is the combinationof a technology, platform that provides hosting and storage service on the Internet [3]. Maingoal of the Cloud Computing is to provide scalable and inexpensive on-demand computinginfrastructures with good quality of service levels [4] [5].Many companies developing andoffering Cloud Computing products and servicesbuthave not properly considered theimplications of processing, storing and accessing data in a shared and virtualizedenvironment. In fact, many developers of Cloud -based applications struggle to includesecurity. In other cases, developers simply cannot provide real Security with currentlyaffordable technological capabilities[6].

4 Cloud computingis sharing of resources on a largerscalewhich is cost effective andlocation independent. Resources on the Cloud can beusedbythe clientand deployed by the vendor such as amazon, google, ibm, salesforce, zoho,rackspace, microsoft. It also shares necessary software s and on-demand tools forvarious ITIndustries. Benefits of Cloud Computing are enormous. The most important one is that thecustomers don t need to buy the resource from a third party vendor, instead they canuse theresource and pay for it as a service thus helping the customerto save time andmoney. Cloudis not only for Multinational companies but it s also being used by Smalland mediumenterprises[7].

When it comes tocloud itismorefocused upon thefrontend and the back end. The front end is the User who requires thedata, whereas thebackend is the numerous data storage device, server which makesthe Cloud [7].There arethree typesof cloudaccording to theirusage. They areprivatecloud,publiccloud andhybridcloud.

6 Theprivatecloud is owned by a singleorganization andpublic clouds are shared on alarger scale. Private Cloud providesbetter control and more flexibility. Hybrid Cloud is acombination of Private Cloud andPublic Cloud which is used by most of the of Cloud Computing may be very appealing but nothing is perfect. Cloudgot manyissues when it comes to Security especially on Data theft, Data loss andPrivacy[7].Thispaper firstly lists the parameters that affect the Security of the Cloud in section 2. Section 3explores the Cloud Security Issues and problems faced by Cloud service provider and cloudservice consumer such as data, privacy, infected application and Security Issues .

7 Section 4discuses some of tips and tricks to tackle these affecting Cloud securityThere are numerous Security Issues for Cloud Computing as it encompasses many technologiesincluding networks, databases, operating systems, virtualization, resource scheduling,transaction management, load balancing, concurrency control and memory management[8].Figure 1:Parameter that affectscloud securitySecurity Issues for many of these systems and technologies are applicable to cloudcomputing. For example, the network that interconnects the systems in a Cloud has to besecure. 8 For example, mapping the virtual machines to the physical machines has to becarried out securely. Data Security involves encrypting the data as well as ensuring thatappropriate policies are enforced for data sharing. In addition, resource allocation andmemory management algorithms have to be secure. Finally, data mining techniques may beapplicableto malware detection in Issues faced by Cloud computingWhenever a discussion about Cloud securityis taken place there will be very much to do service provider for Cloud makessure that the customer does not face anyproblem such as loss of data or data theft. There is also a possibility where a malicious usercan penetrate the Cloud by impersonating a legitimate user, there by infecting the entire leads toaffectsmany customers who are sharing the infectedcloud[7].

Infected 2: Cloud SecurityIssuesData Issues :sensitive data in a Cloud Computing environment emerge as major Issues withregard to Security in a Cloud based , whenevera data is on a Cloud ,anyonefrom anywhere anytimecan access datafrom the cloudsince data may be common, privateand sensitive data in a Cloud . 10 Sothere is amuchprobabilityofdata can be stolen fromtheexternal ,Data loss is acommonproblem in Cloud Computing . If thecloudcomputing service provider shut down his services due somefinancial or legal problemthenthere will be a loss of data for , data can be lost or damageor corrupteddue to miss happening, natural disaster, and fire. Due to above condition, data may notbeaccessesable to users. Fourthly, data location is one of the Issues what requires focus in acloud Computing environment. Physical location of data storage is very important and should betransparentto user does not reveal where all the data s :Thecloud Computing service providermust make sure that thecustomerpersonal information is well secured fromotherproviders, customer and user.
