2 A chain ofSchools/Colleges in Medical, Nursing, Engineering, Management, Architecture, Bioinformatics,Biotechnology and Journalism fields stand testimony to the endeavors of the Trust. These institutions underthe MGM Trust have achieved a mark of excellence over the years. The MGM Trust started two medical colleges, MGM Medical college & Hospital at Navi Mumbai in 1989and MGM Medical college and Hospital at Aurangabad in approved establishment of MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGMIHS) as deemed to be Universityu/s 3 of UGC Act 1956 with these two medical colleges at Navi Mumbai and Aurangabad as constituentunits in the year 2006. MGMIHS then initiated the programmes in allied Health disciplines (Nursing, physiotherapy , Biomedical Sciences , Rehabilitation).

The curricula developed have relevance to Local,Regional, National and Global healthcare needs with clearly stated POs & COs leading to well definedgraduate follows three tier system for curricular aspects initiated by board of studies faculties-academiccouncil and concurrence from Board of management.

8 Guidelines of MCI/INC/RCI/UGC are and local needs are always considered for initiation of programs like Emergency Medicine,Geriatrics, IHBT, Nephrology, BP&O, and MPT in sports physiotherapy and MSc in Nurse PractitionerCritical Care. Further MS Traumatology and Surgery, MD Family Medicine Institute has implemented Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in all the programs wherever regulatorycouncils have made to Council guidelines MGMIHS has developed UG and PG curriculum of medical programs asCompetency Based Medical Education. According to INC and RCI guidelines MGMIHS has developedcurriculum of all Nursing and BP&O programs as outcome based and skill is enriched by incorporating field work, research projects, community settings and industryinterfaces.

9 Institute through its curricula sensitizes students to be aware and proactive in Gender,Environment awareness, Human values, Health Determinants, Right to Health Issues, Social issues, Humanpopulation, Demographic changes and Professional Ethics. MGMIHS has a conducive environment forgender equity. MGM Aurangabad has secured 5th position for gender parity in India Today is implementing environmental studies module as per UGC guidelines for its has established the Bioethics Unit of UNESCO Chair in Bioethics in are motivated for research through activities like PLEXUS. 42 Research projects areundertaken by UG students (ICMR-STS). PG students during first semester have to do research methodologyworkshop and advised to undertake dissertation project in relation with thrust areas.
