1 SINCE1877 PREMIUMWOODCAREP roblem-Solver primer #8511/#8516/#8544 Recommended Uses: Cabot Problem-Solver Primeris a solvent-based, exterior primer specially designed to provide maximum performance through a faster drying andhigher-hiding formulation. In addition tosuperior resistance to extractive bleedingand moisture problems, this 100% alkydprimer dries in a fraction of time comparedto traditional linseed oil-based primers andfacilitates the application of a quality finishcoat within just a few hours. CabotProblem-Solver primer makes an ideal basecoat for all types of solid stains and paintsand will yield outstanding results on siding,shingles, plywood, and on both smooth orrough-sawn surfaces. It is also suited forapplication over previously oil-based stainedor painted Problem-Solver primer is recommendedfor use on extractive-prone wood speciessuch as red cedar, redwood, mahogany andfir. It is also excellent when applied to pine,cypress, spruce, and even pressure-treatedwood.

2 This product has exceptional adhesive properties and can be appliedimmediately to new, dry, unseasoned,mill-glazed (smooth) :Richly-pigmented, penetrating solvent-based :Dries to a uniform flat :Available in White #8511, Gray #8544 andNeutral Tinting Base # : Cabot Problem-Solver Primers White #8511and Gray #8544 may be tinted with up to 4 fluid ounces per gallon of compatible universal colorants. Neutral Base primer #8516 may be tinted with up to 12 fluidounces per : On smooth surfaces, approximately 400-500 square feet per gallon ( meters per liter); on rough surfaces,150-250 square feet per gallon ( meters per liter). 5 The durabilityof this product can be impaired by anunsound or poorly prepared surface. It isvery important that the surface be clean ofall dirt, mildew stains, loose wood fibers and other foreign matter. Surfaces must bestructurally sound and absolutely dry.(Moisture content must be below 15%, orthe wood must be exposed to dry weatherfor a minimum of 3-5 days.)
