5 It is important to placethe panels on a slight angle on the roof. This helps purge the air from the system when filling, and provides drainage whendraining for the winter. Angle the panels 4 for every 40 feetwith the slope down toward the end that has the feed )Carefully take the sections out of the box (give each roll a twistto tighten and pick up from the bottom to prevent tangling), set down, evenly arrange, and allow each section to unroll. If the PANEL becomes tangled, lay flat and untangle by weavingthe bottom header through the panels Clip together using the INSTALLATION tool included with the required System )Keep the top header close to the reference chalk line as you begin the assembly. 1put an O-Ring on the first header2lubricate the O-Ring, with supplied lubricant (lithium based)3clip the orange INSTALLATION tool into the slot on the next header4push the two sections together5remove the INSTALLATION tool6insert black clip to complete the connectionb)Continue this procedure for the top headers until all the panels are from box carefully andunroll panels .

6 If panels becometangled, lay flat and untwiststrips from one end to the other536 36 4 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED)4 Strap down headers and panelsa)Starting at the top end, secure the headers to the roof by placing header straps(12 ) on every other clip connectionb)Loop the strap around the header, bring the two grommets together and pushthe threaded lag bolt through the grommets. Check for proper tension, apply agenerous dab of roof sealant on the chalk line and secure the lag bolt to the )Complete the top row strap INSTALLATION . On steeper roofs, you may want to strapthe headers while you are making the connections to prevent the entire assemblyfrom slipping down. (On steep roofs, or in very windy areas you may want to puta strap on every header contact your dealer to purchase extra top the bottom headers by pulling gently and join together as the topheaders (see step 3), Bottom headers are not strapped )To complete the securing process, cross strapping (48 ) is used.

7 The straps areattached grommet to grommet across the entire width of panels . Starting fromthe top, the cross straps should be no more than 36 inches apart. Space themevenly, all the way down to the bottom using the proper lag bolts and roof sealantprovided. The last row, nearest to the bottom should be no more than four inchesfrom the bottom header. Bottom headers are not strapped down to allow forexpansion and contraction of the )If your roof has a membrane, or cannot be punctured, it is possible to attach alumber frame to the roof with liquid nails and attach the lag bolts into the lumber.(Contact your roof manufacturer for advice).Attach to Roof1 Top strapTop strap every other section across top top strap across the top row every 2 ft. For very steep roofs, order more straps and attachevery Cross StrapCross strapping 4 inches from bottom and every3 ft.

8 Up thereafter. Do not over-tighten cross strapping, to allow for expansion. Apply a generousamount of roofing cement. Screw lag bolts through roofing cement into roof. Use roof sealant liberallywith all lag bolts into roof. Never use top straps on bottom2165 Connect Plumbinga)Clip the header end connectors (HECs) to create amale and female adapter to the inlet and outlet,diagonally opposite of one another. Remember thefeed line goes in the bottom and return comes outthe top on the opposite side. HECs can also be usedas spacers around small roof vents or similarobstacles. (Purchased separately)REMOVE LOCATOR TABHECHECHECVENTO RINGEND CAPEND CAP PIPEPLUMBINGUse Teflon on all End CapsJoin Plumbing to HeadersHeader End Connector (HEC), included in your systemkit, creates a male and a female adapter. These endsare used at the input and output of the array.
