The Course introduces Welding terminology, gives a brief description of common Welding processes, material science, inspection techniques, Welding and fabrication codes, quality control documentation, basic mathematics and science.

The Course is also for those who do not meet direct entry requirements to the Welding Inspection Level 1 Course is intended for anyone who wishes to enter the field of fabrication and serves as a basis to begin a career in Welding quality control and inspection. Students obtain a useful qualification which allows them to gain to note: This Course is the first level of a new 3-level programme, which will comprise International Welding Inspector Personnel (IWIP) Basic, Standard and Comprehensive completion of the Basic Level, two years working experience is required before moving on to the Standard Level.
