2 With great anticipation, I look forward to what this year will bring us. Oftentimes, my reflection includes the breadth and depth of capability shown by all the vendors for the Housing business. With help from our partners who choose to commit and adopt customer-driven change .. we re in good hands. Our partners can expect to differentiate themselves in this business. While going through my reflection of the past year, I would like to share two (2) words with you: Thank You! For being the best example to other agencies on how to work together as a high performing partnership. Your Cooperation and Devotion to excellence are the foundation for our agency for years to come. Thank You! For providing excellent customer service. Your compassion, patience, understanding, and dignified treatment of our clients are the essence of what we do and how we are perceived.

3 Thank You! Without inspiration, the best powers of the mind remain dormant. There is a fuel in us which needs to be ignited with a spark.. Johann Gottfried Von HerderAs we stand on the horizon of a break-through year, let us look forward with great anticipation for what we can accomplish together in the coming months. Let us embrace change and innovation together as the great team we are. Participants - remember, we are here to serve you! Many Hands One PurposeDwayne Alexander, CPM , ACoM, ARM , Deputy Executive Director1 OWNERS/MANAGERS: Our community is in need of additional owners/managers who are willing to rent units to Veterans who have Section 8 Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Vouchers. VASH vouchers are just like regular Section 8 / Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) except they can only be issued to Veterans who were discharged with other than Non-Honorable discharges.

4 This means they have served our country. Now, we need to provide a helping hand to ensure our eligible Vets have safe, decent, and sanitary Housing . Some Vets may have poor or no rental history and/or bad credit. Does this mean they won t be great tenants now that they have a VASH voucher? NO! One of the reasons why is the relationship navigator (VA caseworkers) who are assigned to assist each Veteran under the VASH program, even after they have leased! This will ensure Vets who require intervention are successful renters and have that support. You can contact the assigned VA caseworker if there is ever a every Veteran out there, there is hope! Let s show them the Las Vegas Community cares by agreeing to relax some of your screening criteria to lease up our Vets. We have about 80 Vets at this time that need Housing .

5 Most need one (1) bedroom units. Our agency will be receiving an estimated 150 additional VASH vouchers this summer to help additional Vets. Please list your units with the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority by:1) Going to our website at and click on landlord listings 2) Call (702) 922-6906 and provide the office assistant with your unit information and/or 3) List via .
