2 Verify hard copy against online system before use. 4 NONDESTRUCTIVE Test (NDT) Submittal Guide GENERAL The supplier, who intends to perform any NONDESTRUCTIVE tests for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS), is required to obtain two approvals prior to performing the required NDT. The first step requires the NDT suppliers facility be approved by either NGAS or NGAS s customer and shall be listed on NGAS s OASIS website under Approved Special Processor List (ASPL) or our customer s website ( D1-4426 for F/A-18 and QCS-001 for F-35). The second step requires all NDT techniques be approved by NGAS s Supplier Quality (SQ) NDT Level III per the Table 1. Supplier shall submit the NDT Techniques and Procedures to the responsible NGAS buyer along with X-ray films or any electronic data, as applicable. The approved NDT techniques shall be posted on the NGAS OASIS website under ASPL. SCOPE Supplier shall review the purchase order and associated drawings/drawing notes and related documents to determine if NDT is required.

3 Submittal of NDT general procedures and part-specific techniques to NGAS is required prior to production testing. Requirements for the minimum content of general procedures/ techniques are provided in the respective NDT process specification. After initial approval, any changes to the documents must be re-submitted to NGAS for approval. An EO change or specification revision change requires re-submittal of a letter of compliance or a revised procedure/technique. The letter must contain procedure or technique number, re-submittal date and supplier s NDT Level III signature. On-site validation of procedures/ techniques to verify specification compliance may be performed at the discretion of NGAS SQ NDT Level III. A general procedure may include multiple part numbers. These part numbers will appear on OASIS. A part number specific technique is unique to the part number and will be listed on OASIS. The requirement for a general procedure may be waived if all the minimum requirements required by specification are contained in a part number specific technique.

4 Submittal of general procedures or part number specific techniques is not required to NGAS for parts processed per Mil-Std-2154, ASTM E-1417 or ASTM E-1444. Part number specific techniques are not required for Penetrant Inspection on all programs. Instead, a general PT procedure shall be submitted for all critical parts. NDT Procedure/ Technique submittal requirements are listed in Table 1 by Program, Project ID, NDT category, and procedure type and process specification.
