SRV Vent Connectors

Safety Relief Valve Vent Connectors Steam Steam is one of the most common carriers of energy. Steam is utilized to drive turbines and provides heat for industrial processes and communities. It drives locomotives and catapults airplanes from aircraft carriers. The amount of energy contained is the product of heat and pressure. In today's high pressure steam systems with pressures in excess of 2000 psi and temperatures of more than 0. 1000 F, quality products are essential to control the pressure and flow of the steam.

BOA SAFETY RELIEF VALVE VENT CONNECTORS, (SRV’s), consist of three basic elements. • A BOA multiple-ply bellows. • An external, heavy wall pressure shell. • An inner, heavy wall, full bore liner.

1 Safety Relief Valve Vent Connectors Steam Steam is one of the most common carriers of energy.

2 Safety Relief Valves ensure that steam is vented into the atmosphere before pressure peaks (higher than design conditions) can cause damage to equipment. Pressure Relief Valves for pressure protection on a steam re-heater in a coal fired power plant. A rapid flow of steam with a velocity up to the speed of sound discharges through the valve into the vent line when the valve is actuated. The turbulent flow typically incurs severe vibration and dynamic loads that can cause damage to structures and the valve if the vent pipe system is firmly connected to the building structure.

3 In some cases Drip-Pan Elbows are still utilized to separate the vent-line from the valve, but limit the amount of back pressure, cause drafting through the vent stack and include safety hazards such as steam blow-back into the building. BOA SAFETY RELIEF VALVE VENT Connectors . offer a safe, efficient and reliable answer. Completely sealed system eliminates steam discharge into the building. Inherent flexibility protects valve and structure from excessive bending moments and forces. Flexible bellows absorb thermal movements and decouple vibration.

4 Allows higher back-pressure. Protects personnel and equipment. Post Office Box 1301 Cumming, GA 30028. Phone: Fax: E-mail: BOA SAFETY RELIEF VALVE VENT Connectors , (SRV's), consist of three basic elements. A BOA multiple-ply bellows. An external, heavy wall pressure shell. An inner, heavy wall, full bore liner. BOA SRV's are designed so that the bellows are isolated from the flow and the pressure acts on the outside surface. The external pressure stabilizes the bellows while allowing extremely low spring forces.

5 The complete encapsulation makes the unit practically indestructible. The internal, full flow liner prevents unwanted turbulence and back-pressure. Why Multi-Ply ? BOA multi-ply bellows are ideal for dampening vibration. The superior flexibility ensures low forces and moments at the Relief Valve and Vent Stack connecting points and allows for a compact design. The self draining convolutions of the bellows prevent entrapment of flow media and other foreign matter. Stainless Steel Type 321 bellows ensure enhanced corrosion resistance against most steam conditions.
