In 1925-1928, Beaver College moved to its present location in Glenside, Pennsylvania, occupying an historic landmark estate known as Grey Towers, which, with its castle, stone buildings and spacious grounds, provides a campus of great dignity and beauty. 3 The College of Global Studies For much of its history, arcadia University has been actively involved in providing high quality international education opportunities for students. In June of 1948, Jack Wallace, a professor at Beaver College, took a class of 17 students to Europe for ten weeks to see first-hand the economic effects of World War II on Europe and the post-war efforts to rebuild it. In 1965, The Center for Education Abroad was established to enable American undergraduates to study for credit in fully-integrated programs in Britain, Austria, and elsewhere. From these early experiences, arcadia University has become a national leader in education abroad. In 2009, the arcadia University Center for Education Abroad became The College of Global Studies.
