4 Return the form to the Parish Office or place it in the weekly collection. Once again, welcome!St. Joseph Catholic Church Welcome Parish Family and Friends, This week, St. Paul talks about the body of Christ. As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body. So also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free person, and we were all given to drink of one spirit. The gifts we have, we are given to share, for the benefit of our Church and in glory of the Lord. C. S. Lewis writes of this call to Church . For the Church is not a human society of people united by their natural affinities, Lewis says, but the Body of Christ, in which all members, however different (and He rejoices in their differences and by no means wishes to iron them out) must share the common life, complementing and helping one another precisely by their differences.

5 We are called to be members of the body of Christ the Church . That might make us uncomfortable or give us feelings of vulnerability. We might have a childhood memory that makes Church less than perfect because it s not a perfect place; it s a redeemed one. We might also think we re better and less needy than the people found in Church . This act of joining others will call us to humility and charity. As I have mentioned before, Catholicism is relational. It is not something that can be lived in solitude. As God is Triune Love, we are called to imitate that Love through our own lives and relationships. This body that we share is the Body of Christ and we each bring the vocation and gifts God has bestowed on us. Have I told you lately that I love you? God bless you, Father Dennis SACRIFICIAL GIVING 1/20/2019 Amount needed to make budget: $8, Amount Collected $8, St. Joseph $6, Sacred Heart$ $1, Display Case$ Poinsettias $ Social$ Use Donation $ Expense $ Ed Donation $ Joseph Pro-Life $ $ Candles$ Donations $1, Fund$1, Fundraiser$ License Fees $ Kitchen$ 544 issued, 151 envelopes were DEBT 1/22/2019: $969,800 St.
