The service is introduced Call to Worship There are varieties of gifts: All but the same Spirit. There are varieties of service: All but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working: All but the same God is at work in us all. (1 Cor ) Come let us worship. All Let us rejoice and sing God s praise for ever. We sing a Hymn Prayer of Preparation All Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord.

Amen. The Confession We are invited to confess our sins All Lord God, we have sinned against you; we have done evil in your sight. We are sorry and repent. Have mercy on us according to your love. Wash away our wrongdoing and cleanse us from our sin. Renew a right spirit within us and restore to us the joy of your salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The absolution is given The Collect of the day Almighty God, who inspired your apostle Saint peter to confess Jesus as Christ and Son of the living God: build up your Church upon this rock, that in unity and peace it may proclaim one truth and follow one Lord, your Son our Saviour Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. The Word The First Reading from Holy Scripture.

After the reading: This is the word of the Lord. All Thanks be to God. We sing a Hymn between the readings The Second Reading from Holy Scripture. After the reading: This is the word of the Lord. All Thanks be to God. The Sermon We have a time of silence to reflect The Sung Creed We believe in God the Father, God almighty, by whose plan earth and heaven sprang to being, all created things began. We believe in Christ the Saviour, Son of God in human frame, virgin-born, the child of Mary upon whom the Spirit came. Christ, who on the cross forsaken, like a lamb to slaughter led, suffered under Pontius Pilate, he descended to the dead. We believe in Jesus risen, heaven s king to rule and reign, to the Father s side ascended till as judge he comes again. We believe in God the Spirit; in one Church, below, above: saints of God in one communion, one in holiness and love.

So by faith, our sins forgiven, Christ our Saviour, Lord and friend, we shall rise with him in glory to the life that knows no end. The Prayers Prayers of Intercession are offered The Lord s Prayer The Peace There is one body, one Spirit, one hope in God's call: All one Lord, one faith, one baptism. There is one God, Father of all, over all and in all: All to whom Christ ascended on high. And through his Spirit he gives us gifts: All some are apostles, some are his prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers he gives us: All so that we can minister together to build up his body: All to be mature in the fulness of Christ. (Eph ) The Peace of the Lord be always with you All and also with you We offer one another a sign of peace. The Offertory We sing a Hymn during which the offertory is collected.

The offertory is received with these words Lord Jesus Christ, you emptied yourself, taking the form of a servant All Through your love, make us servants of one another. Lord Jesus Christ, for our sake you became poor, All May our lives and gifts enrich the life of your world. Yours, Lord, All is the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendour, and the majesty; for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. All things come from you, and of your own do we give you. Re-dedication Will you continue in the apostles teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of the bread, and in the prayers? All With the help of God, I will. Will you persevere in resisting evil, and, whenever you fall into sin, repent and return to the Lord? All With the help of God, I will. Will you proclaim by word and example the good news of God in Christ?

All With the help of God, I will. Will you seek and serve Christ in all people, loving your neighbour as yourself? All With the help of God, I will. Will you acknowledge Christ s authority over human society, by prayer for the world and its leaders, by defending the weak, and by seeking peace and justice? All With the help of God, I will. May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, that you may be rooted and grounded in love and bring forth the fruit of the Spirit. All Amen. Closing Prayer We join together in the closing prayer All Almighty God, who on the day of Pentecost sent your Holy Spirit to the apostles with the wind from heaven and in tongues of flame, filling them with joy and boldness to preach the gospel: by the power of the same Spirit strengthen us to witness to your truth and to draw everyone to the fire of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen We sing the Final Hymn The Final Blessing May God, who kindled the fire of his love in the heart of St peter and all the saints, pour upon us the riches of his grace. May he give us joy in their fellowship and a share in their praises. May he strengthen us to follow them in the way of holiness and to come to the full radiance of glory. Amen. Dismissal Go in peace to love and serve the Lord All In the name of Christ. Amen
