9 An in-depth case law update focusing on apportionment problem areas including overlap, range of medical evidence, pertinent cases, and petitions to AU will provide an in-depth explanation of the audit process and the basics for measuring a claims administrator s timely provision of workers compensation benefits. The AU will present a comparison overview of Audit Unit Findings (PAR/FCA 2010-2013); status of the changes in the benefit notices and other areas subject to penalty enforcement (IMR, IBR, MPN, UR, Bad Faith Business practices, ). In addition, the Audit Unit will address some common question from the two-hour session will review the most important case decisions issued in 2014.

10 Some of the cases discussed involve the continuing interpretation and implementation of the workers compensation reforms of session will highlight some the ways the Department of Industrial Relation s Research Unit is using the collected information including medical data, FROI, and SROI. Attendees will get a broad overview about the Division s upcoming regulations, forms, and processes as well as the status of recently adopted rules and regulations, many of which stem from the passage of SB 863 in new session will focus on protecting workers from health and safety hazards on the job through the Division of Occupational Safety and Health s enforcement and consultation more about the medical billing process through DWC s Electronic Adjudication Management System and the Independent Bill Review process for a disputed bill from DWC s Medical and Legal staff.
