10 ARTICLE 1 RECOGNITION SECTION ONE. The STATE of CONNECTICUT recognizes the New England Health Care Employees Union, District 1199, SEIU, as the exclusive representative of Employees whose classifications are included in the unit certified by the STATE Board of Labor Relations, subject to such modifications or clarifications of the unit as the Board or a court may order or to which the parties agree. A list of classifications in the unit as of the date the parties executed this Agreement is included in the appendix of this Agreement. SECTION TWO. Whenever the word Employee is used in this Agreement, it shall mean an Employee in the bargaining unit, as defined in Section One. This Agreement shall not apply to nonpermanent Employees appointed to nonpermanent positions except as provided in Section Four. A part-time Employee is an Employee who is hired to work a regular schedule of less than thirty-five (35) hours per week.
