2 Payment Options Per Wis. Stat. (4), counties have two available options for paying their county contribution to DHS: Through a reduction to their Basic County Allocation (BCA) contract Through a direct payment (payment with a check) to DHSC ollection Counties may pay their county contribution in one of the following manners: Make a lump sum annual payment of the required county contribution by the anniversary of the initialstart date of managed long-term care Make quarterly or biannual payments of the required county contribution with the total annualizedamount made by the county s anniversary dateHistorical Context Long-term county contribution amounts are required per Wis . Stat. (4), as amended by 2007 Wis. Act 20. DHS implemented these payment options and the collection process following the transition from previous long-term care programs to Family Care.

3 The county contribution amount previously included a five-year transitionary period, and following the fift h year, all county contributions were frozen at the amount contributed on the fifth year. Starting in calendar year 2022, all counties will have completed their five-year transitionary period, so the county contribution amount will be frozen at the fifth year contribution amount. The transition and final/annual contribution amounts for each county can be found in Attachment A. Please direct questions to
