All safety equipment as required by the US Coast Guard (such as life jackets, throwables, fire extinguishers, sound signaling devices, etc.) is aboard. 8. Shrink wrap, winter/storage covers have been removed.

2 9. Keys or combinations of the locks and the ignition keys are available. 10. Batteries are charged and connected. 11. AC power is available. 12. Electronics are installed. 13. Water tanks are sufficiently filled to test all water systems. 14. Toilets are clean and ready for use. 15. Bilges are dry and clean and bilge pumps are operational. 16. Anchor and rode on board. 17. The owner/broker has been requested not to hose down the vessel on the day of the survey as this precludes reliable moisture meter readings. 18. If hauling and or launching are required appropriate arrangements have been made in advance with the boatyard or marina. 19. If a sea trail is required, appropriate arrangements have been: The vessel must be operated by the owner or his/her representative The owner has the vessel adequately insured. Sufficient fuel is on board to operate the vessel for at least two (2) hours. The engines are ready and the fluid levels have been checked.

3 Sufficient crew is available to handle the vessel and dock lines without involving the Surveyor. I suggest that you forward a copy of the Pre-Survey Checklist to the owner or broker.
