1 STUDY visit : INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT . IN THE PUBLIC sector . Dutch National INTEGRITY Office (BIOS) &. The Hague Academy 22 - 25 September 2015 in The Hague, The Netherlands International best practice The Dutch INTEGRITY system is internationally considered to be a good practice. The Netherlands is ranked number 8 on the Corruption Perceptions Index from Transparency International and the European Commission praises the Dutch preventive policy of the last twenty years in the EU Anti-Corruption report from 2014: INTEGRITY , transparency and accountability are actively promoted in the Dutch PUBLIC administration. Established by the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Dutch National INTEGRITY Office (BIOS). is an independent institute that encourages and supports the PUBLIC sector in the design and implementation of INTEGRITY policies.. Get to know the Dutch system In September 2015 The Hague Academy and BIOS will organise a four-day STUDY visit in which you will get to know the Dutch INTEGRITY system.
2 The programme will contain a mix of theory, workshops, practical insights and visits to governmental bodies, and inspires participants to reflect on their own INTEGRITY systems, strategies and plans. You will meet experts from for example: The Dutch National INTEGRITY Office (BIOS), the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations and other institutions. Additionally, key experts will share their insights on latest developments in the field of PUBLIC sector INTEGRITY . STUDY visit : INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT IN THE PUBLIC sector . Who can apply? This STUDY visit is relevant and interesting for professionals and civil servants working for central or decentral government, (semi-) PUBLIC institutions, anti-corruption/ INTEGRITY agencies/offices, or professionals from CSOs or NGOs, working in the field of INTEGRITY , anti- corruption, transparency and accountability processes in relation to development and governance.
3 Programme Day 1: On the first day of the visit concepts of INTEGRITY are introduced and discussed. You will get familiar with the Dutch landscape of INTEGRITY and the work of the Dutch National INTEGRITY Office (BIOS). You will visit the Dutch Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations, and get to know the national policy and strategy on INTEGRITY . Additionally, a key speaker will elaborate on the Dutch INTEGRITY system. Day 2: You will get familiar with the importance of risk assessments and monitoring. You will practice with implementing risk assessment for your own organisation. An INTEGRITY expert will share their insights on latest developments in the field of PUBLIC sector INTEGRITY . Additionally you will visit the political heart of the Netherlands by a guided tour through The Hague. Day 3: On the third day we will focus on good practice examples regarding INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT .
4 You will visit two different Dutch PUBLIC organisations. You will learn about their experiences and best practices on dealing with INTEGRITY issues in their organisation. Additionally a leading scholar, will share his vision on latest developments in INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT . Day 4: At the final day an expert will present on a specific INTEGRITY related topic. In addition you will reflect on what you have learned during the STUDY visit and draft a plan, based on the knowledge and ideas gained during the field trips, lectures and workshops in The Netherlands. The plans will be discussed and reflected upon. Practical information The costs to participate in this four day STUDY visit are ,- (excl. VAT).
