Inside this SUMMER 2018 edition of WCCC s Community Education Center brochure we have a large selection of classes/workshops for personal and professional growth that are designed for lifelong learning around many fun topics. Many of the Community Education Center courses are developed from your input and ideas. Palisade has been growing the best tasting peaches for over 130 years. It is also the center of the newer Colorado Wine Country which includes grape growers and wineries and home to 25 of the state s 140 wineries. There are 1,000 acres of wine grapes in Colorado 85% in Mesa County. In 2006, 13,250 tons of Colorado peaches were produced 75% in Mesa County for a value of more than $27 million.
7 The first session of this class will be classroom lectures, movies, and an interactive peach packing demonstration. Palisade pioneers were very inventive to find ways to process fruit faster and better. You will learn about and see some of these inventions.
