2 Training/schools-and- Programs / Summer -sci ence- The Summer Science Program - The Summer Science Program (SSP) is a residential enrichment program in which gifted high school students from around the world complete a challenging, hands-on research project in celestial mechanics. By day, students learn College -level astronomy, physics, calculus, and programming. By night, working in teams of three, they take a series of telescopic observations of a near-earth asteroid, and write software to convert those observations into a prediction of the asteroid's orbit around the sun. Stimulating guest speakers and field trips round out the curriculum. High School Summer Science Research Program - The purpose of the HSSSRP, is to give superior high school students hands-on research by working on research projects with Baylor university science professors in many disciplines.

The students selected demonstrated a keen interest in broadcasting, newspapers, magazines, photojournalism, or online media. This program is not limited to Asian American students and is open to all high school freshmen, sophomores, or juniors.
