"I join all of the mothers, daughters, and sisters as we celebrate their myriad contributions to our general well-being on International Women 's Day. "In every Social Justice, Labor, Civil Rights or Liberation movement Women like Araminta Harriet Ross Tubman, Delores Huerta, Ella Baker, Queen nanny of the Maroons, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Queen Mother Ya'Asentwa have played a large part in their success. "Just as during Black history month, let us not focus merely on the "first woman to enter a male space" stories, but also focus on the thousands of Women who helped create the spaces many of us enjoy to this day.

Araminta Harriet Ross Tubman, Delores Huerta, Ella Baker, Queen Nanny of the Maroons, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Queen Mother Ya'Asentwa have played a large part in their success.
