February usually kicks off car show season with the Daryl Starbird s National Rod & Custom Show held in Tulsa and this year is no exception.
GCCM averages close to 20+ participating members and their ponies at this event. GCCM Board Member Roger Bymun has been co-ordinating this show for us over the years and has graciously agreed to again this year. Roger intends on nailing down the specifics on what condition our ponies need to be in to be judged windows up or down as an example. Once you receive your entry packet after registering, you need to let Roger know your entry to confirm with the organizers and to plan the space required to corral our ponies. To regis-ter go to or use the printed form on page 9 of this newsletter.
More information will be provided via weekly emails and at our February General club meeting. Besides this monthly newsletter, we have many ways to access and share club information. We have a presence on Facebook with our group page managed by Ron Watkins and our official page managed by many in leadership. We have a Twitter account Club member Lauren Fritz will be managing our Instagram account. Last but not least, we have our website On the website you ll find your officers, board members and appointed positions listed via the Officers link. Other menu links at the top include Renewing membership, Meetings & Events, other car clubs and businesses, Merchandise, and Members Only to mention a few.
Regarding the Appointed Positions, Jim Miller has done a great job sending welcome emails to new members for several years. For personal reasons he has passed the baton to our Membership Director Dennis Figley. Our Cruise Director Kash Sedlack is passing her baton to Jim Massey. Kash did an excellent job coordinating with restaurants during the health crisis the last couple of years. Jim and his wife Jan have served in this position before. Please let Jim Miller and Kash Sedlack know how much you appreciate what they have done in supporting and promoting GCCM. As you know, we recently submitted a club survey covering several topics.
Though only 34% of the recipients responded, we thank each and every one who participated. Makes a difference when we participate. The Board will be reviewing the responses and should have a report to present at the March General Meeting. Memberships expire at the end of each calendar year. If you have not renewed for 2022 please do so via our website or use the form on page 21 of this newsletter. Members who have not renewed by March will be inactivated in our club database. It is sad to see mem-bers leave the club, yet we understand life brings changes and challenges. In case you missed it, we are conducting our annual Round Up Car Show at the Little Light House location this year.
