For the purpose of granting a credit, VFKHGXOHG WLPH LV GH QHG DV WKH WLPH GXULQJ ZKLFK VWXGHQWV SDUWLFLSDWH LQ planned learning activities (other than homework) designed to lead to the achievement of the curriculum expectations of a Course . A credit is granted to a student by the principal of a secondary school on behalf of the Minister of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)Students are required to successfully complete 30 credits of 110 hours each to obtain a high school diploma. Eighteen of these credits are 18 compulsory credits are:4 English (one credit per grade)*1 French as a Second Language3 Mathematics (at least one in Grade 11 or 12)2 Science1 Canadian History1 Canadian Geography1 Arts1 Health and Physical credit in credit in Career Studiesplus one credit from each of the following groups.

Each student is required to take a full credit Course in Religious Education each year. These courses are offered at the Open level in Grades nine and ten and at the University/ college and Open levels in grades eleven and twelve.

Our TCDSB community members are called to apply catholic social teachings in all that wedo; invited by our board vision to be people who transform the world through witness, faith, innovation and action . This community involvement requirement is in addition to the 30 credits required for a high school diploma.
