1 TDS Mortar - fire Resistant MortarTechnical Data SheetTDS J15:DESCRIPTIONG eneralKBS Mortar is a dry fire Resistant Mortar whichwhen mixed with water produces controlled swellingeffect to provide homogenous and smoke-gas-tightfire seal for cable and pipe penetrations. The fire sealhave a low compressive strength, which easily allowsdrilling holes for additional installations. In contrary toother mortars is KBS Mortar not shrinkingduring the setting process. The normal shrinkingeffect is overcompensated by a expanding effect ofabout 3 % thus avoiding shrinkage or Mortar is a special light-weight Mortar withlow compressive strength by a blend of inorganicbinders, fillers and lightweight aggregates, interlacedwith special additives and usesKBS Mortar is recommended wherever firestops cable or pipe penetration with a fire resistanceare specified.
