6 361 During students' full-time student Teaching assignment, they areassessed on professional dispositions, understanding of codes ofethics and professional standards appropriate to TESL, and work withEnglish Language literacy and analysis, use of research and assessment data,leadership and collaboration, utilizing and supporting appropriatetechnology for the discipline, and an understanding of laws related toEnglish Language Learners are assessed in the school to enrollment in ENG 51009 and ENG 68592, studentsmust be evaluated satisfactorily on non-academic dimensions,including completing background checks and demonstrating basiccompetency in reading, writing and mathematics. To demonstratethese competencies, students are required to take the Praxis Coretests in Reading, Math, and Writing unless exempted by GRE scoresfewer than five years old at the time of application.

7 In order togain exemption from Praxis CORE requirements, a student mustachieve at or above the 50th percentile scores on the GRE Verbal,Quantitative, and Analytical Writing tests. Students who have nottaken the GRE are strongly encouraged to take the Praxis CORE tests to demonstrate these competencies, rather than GRE. All students in the degree cannot be concurrently enrolled in theTeaching English as a Second /Foreign Language certificate. Studentswho hold either certificate may be permitted to apply 12 graduatecredit hours earned in the certificate toward the InformationCandidates seeking Ohio licensure are required to pass specificassessments in order to apply for licensure.
