1 TEACHING ON THE LEVIATHAN SPIRIT BY PASTOR JOHN DANIEL 4-9-1997 The word LEVIATHAN in Hebrew language means a riverine, a serpent, crocodile, or other sea monster, the constellation of the dragon. LEVIATHAN means to unite, to abide, or join together. LEVIATHAN SPIRIT is a demon principality ruling over other principalities. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LEVIATHAN SPIRIT Pride (both spiritual and physical), Arrogance, Self righteousness, Self exaltation, Self will, Self centeredness, SPIRIT of Pharisees to fight the move of God and men of God, Critical attitudes, judgmental attitudes, worldliness, stiffneckedness, rebellion, hard heartedness, hinders spiritual growth, stops people from fellowshipping with brethren, produces soulish gifts, wars against deliverance, laziness (both spiritual and physical)

2 , divides brethren, false humility, talkativeness, mockers or mockery, scorners, self defense, strife, etc. Job 41:1-2 :- God said that He will put a hook into a man s nose and get him where He wants him (man) to be ( He will break down or bend one who has LEVIATHAN SPIRIT to obey Him). II :15 :- The Bible says you should study to show yourself approved unto God, that you may divide rightly the word of truth or the word of God. James 3:2-5 :- Here was talking about the uncontrollable tongue that this SPIRIT has.

3 One who is possessed of LEVIATHAN SPIRIT does not control his or her tongue (talkativeness). When we run our mouth loose, we draw back the demons that have left us because of the words of our mouth. Job 41:1 :- Crocodile is the closest reptile to this SPIRIT . Verse 34 :- This demon principality is the king of pride. He claims to always know what he does. This demon is very wicked and strong. Verses 10-14 :- You cannot stand it nor open its jaws, and this means that the person who has this SPIRIT is very stiff-necked, and claims to know where he is going and what he is doing.

4 Verse15 :- He who has this SPIRIT refuses to respond to God s move. He is full of pride, I know it all . James 3:5 & Job 41:19-20 :- One who is possessed by this SPIRIT , when he opens his mouth, fire is kindled out and it begins to burn ( he causes trouble each time he or she speaks). Job 41:21 :- The SPIRIT of God does not move him. Verse 23-26 :- The word of God does not change his heart. Job 41:31 & Jude 13 :- There are people preaching the gospel but they are on their way to hell, because this demon is possessing them.

5 There is nothing in the earth like the LEVIATHAN SPIRIT . He is the king of all pride. This demon will come unto you and you will cleave with him and you will become one with him. The devil is one of the best teachers of the Bible, but he is a liar. The problem with Job is that of self righteousness. He did not know God. Job 38:1-2 :- Darken : it means to be dark, withhold light or truth, cause darkness, to hide. God was asking Job, who is this that hides my counsel without knowledge? The words you speak without knowledge darken the counsel of God.

6 Anything you speak without the SPIRIT of God and knowledge of God, you are taking away the lives of the people you are speaking to or rather ministering spiritual death to them. You should renew your mind with the word of God. Job 29:1-25 :- Don t be puffed up when you are in the midst of ignorant people. Verse 7 :- Don t let what you know puff you up, rather when you go to preach, weep and groan that the people s heart be prepared for the word God has given you. Job had no time to talk about God but of himself.

7 If you think you ve accomplished anything, you ve done nothing at all. Watch it when you begin to claim to yourself the glory and praise of God as Job did in this entire chapter. That is human intelligence caused by LEVIATHAN SPIRIT . Job was talking about works, he boasted of his works and was puffed up. This is self-centeredness caused by LEVIATHAN SPIRIT . Job 30:8-10: - Job did not know God, and for this reason he esteemed himself above others and looked down on the children of men as being vile (bad). You are nobody to look down on anybody, children or men as being vile.

8 This is because the murderer who ate human flesh this morning, God may choose him/her to worship Him this same night because of His mercy. Job 40:1-14: - The question that God asked Job here symbolizes, You who is contending with your PASTOR or with your spiritual authority, will you contend with the Almighty? Woe to you when everybody speaks good of you as all the people loved and spoke good of Job. Verse 7: - What did God want Job to declare? His own (God s) righteousness and not Job s righteousness. You cannot get this demon principality out on your own, but if you say, God I want this demon out of me , He (God) will do it and the principality will leave.

9 Job 42:1-7:- It is time to cry out to God so as to know his ways and words. Job did not know the ways of God and the word of God. After God shook up Job by telling him that he was self righteous, he repented in dust and ashes and then recognized God as Supreme. :1-5:- When God revealed Himself to Job, he saw Him (God) as Isaiah did in this chapter, and he cried out to God for deliverance. Job 42:7:- You will have this demon principality in your life without knowing it, because of the little demons he lets into you.

10 The mermaid water spirits possessing you are not your problems, but this principality the LEVIATHAN SPIRIT . James 1:8:- If you stand in the pulpit and say what God has not told you to say, then your mouth is full of curses. A double minded man is one who believes and confesses both God s words and the words of the devil. James 3:5-8:- The church is defiled these days because of double mindedness. :14-21:- Sickness will come upon us when we rebel against God. :1:- Don t allow the devil to talk to you because anything he says, he makes it contrary to the word of God.
