A FRESH, CLEAN, UNLEADED REGULAR, UNLEADEDPREMIUM OR REFORMULATED AUTOMOTIVEGASOLINE ONLY. DO NOT USE LEADED : DO NOT USE GASOLINE CONTAINING METHANOL (WOODALCOHOL). Gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol or grain alcohol( Gasohol ) may be used but requires special care when engine isunused for extended periods.

Be sure any ignition switch and/or control lever on engine orequipment is in ON , RUN or START Be sure fuel valve (if so equipped see Figure 2) is RUN engine INDOORS OR IN ENCLOSED, POORLYVENTILATED AREAS.

5 engine EXHAUST CONTAINS CARBONMONOXIDE, AN ODORLESS AND DEADLY HANDS, FEET, HAIR AND LOOSE CLOTHING AWAYFROM ANY MOVING PARTS ON engine AND TEMPERATURE OF MUFFLER AND NEARBYAREAS MAY EXCEED 1500F (650C). AVOID THESE AREAS. RECOIL STARTER (with primer) equipment control (see manufacturer's instructions) orengine control to "START". primer two (2) or three (3) times (see Figure 3). If engine falters, move choke lever to 1/2 CHOKE untilengine runs smoothly and then to NO CHOKE POSITION.

7 NOTE:If engine fails to start after three (3) pulls, movechoke lever to NO CHOKE POSITION and pullstarter rope :If engine fires, but does not continue to run, movechoke lever to FULL CHOKE and repeatinstructions B, C and D until engine STARTING READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED WITH THE EQUIPMENTON WHICH THIS engine IS USED. FILL OIL SUMP OR CHECK OIL LEVEL:IMPORTANT:To avoid engine damage never run engine unless:-Oil level is between FULL and ADD marks on dipstick (if soequipped).-Oil level is to overflow point in oil fill hole on engine without fill plug is tightened securely into oil fill tube or OIL LEVEL OFTEN DURING engine engine WITHOUT EQUIPMENT SO engine IS area around oil fill plug (see Figure 1).

8 Oil fill oil level is not up to overflow point in oil fill hole, addrecommended oil. POUR oil fill plug, tighten engine WITH DIPSTICK:1. POSITION EQUIPMENT SO engine IS area around oil fill plug (see Figure 1). oil fill plug and dipstick clean, insert it into oil fill hole and tightensecurely, remove dipstick. If oil is not up to FULL markon dipstick, add recommended oil. POUR dipstick clean each time oil level is : DO NOT FILL ABOVE FULL MARK Install oil fill plug and dipstick, tighten MAINTENANCE section for further oil instructions. FILL FUEL area around fuel fill cap, remove UNLEADED regular gasoline, slowly, to fuel tank.

9 Usea funnel to help avoid : NEVER MIX OIL WITH fuel fill cap and wipe up any spilled FILL FUEL TANK INDOORS. NEVER FILL FUELTANK WHEN engine IS RUNNING OR HOT. DO NOTSMOKE WHEN FILLING FUEL FILL FUEL TANK COMPLETELY. FILL TANK TO 1/2' BELOW BOTTOM OF FILLER NECK TO PROVIDESPACE FOR FUEL EXPANSION. WIPE ANY FUELSPILLAGE FROM engine AND EQUIPMENT BEFORESTARTING LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM (LPG) OR NATURAL GASFUEL SYSTEM MUST BE LEAKPROOF AND MEET ALLAPPLICABLE CODES AND 2 181-1032-14 Figure 2 FUEL TANKTURN CLOCKWISETO "OFF" POSITIONFUEL VALVE"OPEN" POSITIONSHOWNSTOPPING Move equipment control or any ignition stop switch on engine to STOP or OFF (see equipment manufacturer s instructions).

10 AFTER engine IS fuel valve (if so equipped). SPARK PLUG WIRE FROM SPARK PLUGAND KEEP IT AWAY FROM SPARK IGNITION SWITCH KEY (IF SO EQUIPPED) TO OFF POSITION AND REMOVE KEY FROM SWITCH,THIS WILL REDUCE THE POSSIBILITY OFUNAUTHORIZED STARTING OF engine WHILEEQUIPMENT IS NOT IN STORE engine WITH FUEL IN TANK INDOORSOR IN ENCLOSED, POORLY VENTILATED AREAS,WHERE FUEL FUMES MAY REACH AN OPEN FLAME,SPARK OR PILOT LIGHT AS ON A FURNACE, WATERHEATER, CLOTHES DRYER OR OTHER GAS : TEMPERATURE OF MUFFLER AND NEARBYAREAS MAY EXCEED 1500F (650C). AVOID THESE AREAS. OIL LEVEL:Check oil level every five (5) operating hours and before eachuse. See FILL OIL SUMP OR CHECK OIL LEVEL on Page 2.
