Our last gin show took place in April 2019. If someone had told you after that event; the annual gathering of ginners and the Cotton industry would be cancelled for the next couple of years; what would you have thought?

2 We had a nice streak dating back to the World War II era before the COVID-19 pandemic lead to our last two gatherings being cancelled. The pandemic has caused many issues. Lives have been lost, changed and altered. Since early 2020, the pandemic took center stage and has not relinquished the spotlight since. Vaccines are available now along with boosters, but there are certainly no guarantees in today s environment that will keep you from getting COVID-19. As we continue to move forward, the pandemic continues to cause issues for all of us. Able-bodied workforces have proven to be more challenging to find than ever. There are supply chain issues throughout the country. There are challenges every direction you look! Bringing an industry together to discuss challenges and address issues still has tremendous value. Online platforms offer the ability to meet remotely, but that just cannot take the place of meeting in person.

3 Assuming everything holds together, we will do just that in a couple of months in Lubbock. There is some good news out there right now. Texas ginners are putting the finishing touches on a Cotton crop that will likely produce over million bales. Overall, that is an outstanding production total. The value of that Cotton lint is over a dollar per pound right now. Input cost have been on the rise as well, so it is good the price of Cotton has risen as well. Cashing in on Texas Cotton will be the theme of TCGA s annual meeting and Cotton trade show. This very well captures the moment we are currently in. Prices and production of Cotton has been very good over the past year. Page 2 January 26, 2022 2022 TCGA Annual Meeting & Cotton Trade Show Hopefully, with some help from Mother Nature, we continue the momentum that has been established. TCGA will be making a key transition at the meeting.

4 TCGA s Tony Williams who has served as the Association s executive vice president for 33 years will be retiring in April. Kelley Green who has been serving as Director of Technical Services will be moving into that role. Tony has been working with the current staff to insure a successful transition. That transition will be completed in April. We look forward to seeing what the future holds both for TCGA and Tony!
