GRANTS TO ASSIST IN THE RECOGNITION OF 7 trafficking . 8(a) GRANTSTOASSIST INRECOGNITION OFTRAF-9 FICKING. Section 106(b) of the trafficking victims Pro-10tection Act of 2000 (22 7104(b)) is amended 11 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:02 Jul 14, 2017 Jkt 069200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\ H2200lotter on DSKBCFDHB2 PROD with BILLS4 HR 2200 RFS(1) by striking The President and inserting 1the following: 2 (1) IN GENERAL.

8 The President ; and 3(2) by adding at the end the following: 4 (2) GRANTS TO ASSIST IN THE RECOGNITION 5OF trafficking . 6 (A) INGENERAL. The Secretary of 7 Health and Human Services may award grants 8to local educational agencies, in partnership 9with a nonprofit, nongovernmental agency, to 10establish, expand, and support programs 11 (i) to educate school staff to recog-12nize and respond to signs of labor traf-13ficking and sex trafficking ; and 14 (ii) to provide age-appropriate infor-15mation to students on how to avoid becom-16ing victims of labor trafficking and sex 17trafficking.

9 18 (B) PROGRAMREQUIREMENTS. 19 Amounts awarded under this paragraph shall 20be used for 21 (i) education on 22 (I) how to avoid becoming vic-23tims of labor trafficking and sex traf-24ficking; 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:02 Jul 14, 2017 Jkt 069200 PO 00000 Frm 00004 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\ H2200lotter on DSKBCFDHB2 PROD with BILLS5 HR 2200 RFS (II) indicators that an indi-1vidual is a victim or potential victim 2of labor trafficking or sex trafficking ; 3 (III) options and procedures for 4referring such an individual, as appro-5priate, to information on such traf-6ficking and services available for vic-7tims of such trafficking ; 8 (IV) reporting requirements and 9procedures in accordance with applica-10ble Federal and State law; and 11 (V) how to carry out activities 12authorized under subparagraph 13(A)(ii); and 14 (ii) a plan, developed and imple-15mented in consultation with local law en-16forcement agencies, to ensure the safety of 17school staff and students reporting such 18trafficking.

In awarding grants 20under this paragraph, the Secretary shall give 21priority to local educational agencies serving a 22high-intensity child sex trafficking area. 23 (D) DEFINITIONS.
