2 No one knows, but if the child were our own, the price tag would be marked: Not for sale this life is invaluable. James L. Bomar, Jr. RI President 1979-1980 January is Rotary Awareness Month Students to attend today s inauguration in DC By Guest Editor Bob Wilson If the good Lord would only listen to Wayne s prayer, we would have a lot of the problems of the world solved. Let us hope He did. We had three guests, two regulars, Lloyd and Karol, along with our Assistant District Gover-nor Becky Fero. She was promoting the Gala of Lights project that the Rotary Club of Mur-dock holds every year for the adaptive play-ground they are supporting.

3 The event will be held on February 2nd at the PGI Civic Center. Steve and Leroy took home the 50/50 raf-fle. Many happy dollars were given for Tim Tebow and the Gators. We also found out that our own Dave Powell is a bastard descen-dent of England s King George III. I wonder if Dave had claimed his inheritance? We had the pleasure of Dr. Rae Konjoian, Head of the Good Shepherd Day School speak with us today. She filled us in on the many advantages and differences a private school can have over public education. To start with, the class day starts with prayer. Good Shep-herd now has classes from pre-school through 8th grade.

4 Besides teaching the three R s, the school excels in the arts, music and foreign languages. Tuition for a year is $6,600. Dr. Konjoian was especially proud that the six 8th grade students were going to Wash-ington, DC for the inauguration. Most impor-tantly, the students earned most of the neces-sary money for the trip. Thanks to Representative Tom Rooney, they will have seats for the festivities and tickets to go to the Children s Ball. The school was still a bit short of funds, so we passed the hat and donated $235 to them. We wish the students our best on their historic trip. On Thursday, Becky Fero contacted and advised me that she had invited Dr.

5 Kon-joian to the Murdock Rotary meeting. Mur-dock contributed $250, making it possible for the school to make it s goal. Rotary clubs working together can do a lot! Ponce ROTARY ACRONYMS By Steve Vollmer, Contributor I know that we all read the Rotarian Magazine from cover to cover (NOT).
