I had been in Baptist churcheswhere they were very friendly and sincere; in Pentecostal-type churches where peopleare revved up emotionally; and in Catholic and Episcopalian churches, where theemphasis was upon ritual. So, when I became aware of Berachah Church, I thought, this is their gimmick lots of teaching. However, as I began to receive more and moreteaching, it became clear to me that, this is not just a gimmick. Some of you who read this study go to a church, and you hear a 20 or 30 minute sermononce or twice a week; and that is how most churches do it, so, when you read me go onand on and on about knowing the Word of God, you do not quite grasp its Importance .

The Importance of Bible DoctrineThe first time I became aware of the church I attend now, I thought this was anothergimmick their strong emphasis upon the Word of God.

Therefore, let s just see what the Word of God has to say about Itself. The Importance of Bible of Jesus growth was related to the knowledge of Bible Doctrine . And theChild grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom. And the grace ofGod was on Him (Luke 2:40). And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, andin favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Ask yourself, how does God increase inwisdom? God does not increase in wisdom; His knowledge is infinite andunchanging. However, Jesus, in His humanity, increased in wisdom. He did notdepend upon His deity to grow spiritually. Jesus, in the Age of the HypostaticUnion, set the pattern for all believers in the Church Age. Satan tempted our Lord, there were several things going on; but primarily, these temptations were based upon (1) the misapplication of the Bible versus theproper application of the Word of God (2) and a temptation to get Jesus todepend upon His deity.

If you don t believe me, go back and reread this inLuke 4:1 13. the Word of God was as important in the Old Testament as it is in theNew. told his people: And these words that I command you today shallbe on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, andshall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by theway, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them asa sign on your hand, and they shall be as bands between your eyes. Youshall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deut. 6:6 9). Jews were to saturate the lives of their children with theWord of God. teaching of the Word of God took place in a number of areas in thehigh places or at the gates, the entrance into the cities (Prov. 8:1 3, whereBible Doctrine is called wisdom).

Here are a few verses taken out ofProv. 8: "I [wisdom] call out to all of you, and my appeal is to all people. You gullible people, learn how to be sensible. You fools, cause your heartThe Importance of Bible Doctrineto understand. Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledgerather than choice gold, for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that youmay desire cannot compare with her. (Prov. 8:4 5, 10 11). were to seek the Word of God in the Old Testament, and torecognize that God s way of thinking was not their way of thinking. "Seekthe LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near; let thewicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let himreturn to the LORD, that He may have compassion on him, and to ourGod, for He will abundantly pardon.

For My thoughts are not yourthoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the LORD. For as theheavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your waysand My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isa. 55:6 9). in the Old Testament were not to depend upon their ownunderstanding. Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not to yourown understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall directyour paths [ , He will guide you] (Prov. 3:5 6). Doctrine is the source of happiness, a longer life, and a morepeaceful and pleasant existence. Happinesses to the one who findswisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her isbetter than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is moreprecious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Longlife is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways areways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace [and prosperity]. Sheis a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast arecalled blessed (Prov. 3:13 18). Himself is the Living Word of God in John 1:1 14. renovation of your thinking is the key to the Christian life. Paul urges theRomans: Do not be conformed to this time period, but be transformed by therenovation of your thinking, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and complete will of God (Rom. 12:2). Word of God ( Bible Doctrine ) is different from human thinking and humanwisdom. Prov. 3:5 6 Isa. 55:6 9 1 Thess. 2:13 key is not how you feel or how zealous you are for the Lord; the key isknowledge of Bible Doctrine .

Brothers, my deep desire and my prayer to God isfor Israel, that they may be saved. For I testify about them that they have a zealfor God, but not according to knowledge. For being ignorant of God'srighteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did notsubject themselves to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the fulfillment ofthe law for righteousness to everyone who believes (Rom. 10:1 4). The examplegiven is, Jews who are industrious and emotionally committed to some form ofreligion, but they do not understand imputed righteousness, so they, therefore, attempt to establish their own righteousness. They come up short because of alack of knowledge. is not possible for the Word of God to fail. Luke 16:17 Rom. 9:6 The Importance of Bible is fundamentally important that the Word of God is not changed, adulterated ortwisted.

2 Cor. 2:17 4:2 1 Tim. 4:1 Titus 1:9 11 urged the Colossians to let the word of Christ live inside of them abundantly. Col. 3:16 who teach the word of God are doubly honored. 1 Tim. 5:17 told Timothy, who taught the Word of God: Study to show yourself approvedunto God, a workman who ought not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word oftruth (1 Tim. 2:15). purchase time through knowledge of the Word of God. Take great care, then, how you live--not unwisely but wisely, making the most of every opportunity[lit., purchasing the time, which means to get Doctrine at your every opportunity];for these are evil days. Therefore do not be stupid, but keep on comprehendingwhat the Lord's will is (Eph. 5:15 17). God does not text you or send you emailsas to what His will is; this is found in the Word of God.

There is no misunderstanding, we are not required by God to go to the Wordof God and dig out Bible Doctrine for ourselves. This is why God provided pastor-teachers for us. We are not renegades roaming about in groups of s ministry was all about teaching. 2 Tim. 2: 14 16 4:2 4 area where believers become confused is, they are told to be obedient tothose teaching them (Heb. 13:17). This does not mean that your pastor followsyou around and gives you a list of sins that you have committed and now youneed to stop committing those sins. The verb found here is the presentmiddle/passive imperative of peith ( ) [pronounced PIE-thoh], which means,to persuade; to induce one by words to believe. Strong s #3982. The passivevoice means, the believer is to allow himself to be convinced or persuaded of thetruth of Bible Doctrine as taught by his pastor.

The imperative mood means, heis mandated to do so. The present tense is linear or durative action. That is, youcontinually to be persuaded, which means, you think about Bible doctrinecontinually. obviously, the epistles themselves are a well of Church Age Doctrine , whichinformation is dug out by a pastor-teacher and presented to his congregation. Old Testament is not to be ignored either. Jesus taught the Old Testamentand the epistles are filled with illustrations from the Old Testament. Rom. 3 Heb. 4 10 11 Jude 7 are 2 words in the New Testament related to this topic which are used, attimes, in a very technical sense: is simple knowledge, called gn sis ( ) [pronounced GNOH-sis]which means, [general] knowledge, understanding. Strong s #1108. If yourecall the verse, Knowledge puffs up; this is gn sis.
