Section 8 of this Act provides that :- (1) If, immediately before the commencement of this Act, there is in force in any State any law fixing rates of STAMP -duty in respect of the documents specified in entry 91 of List I in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution such law, to the extent to which it is inconsistent with the principal Act as amended by this Act shall on such commencement stand repealed.
