3 Inaddition, we have converted our upright models touse an eco-friendly, natural refrigerant in conjunctionwith meeting or exceeding DOE 2017 energy effi-ciency requirements. Converting to a natural refrig-erant is not only good for the environment it alsoprovides improved operating efficiencies for our cus-tomers and means we are well ahead of the EPAconversion requirement in the year 2020. In our pro-duction facility we are constantly investing in thenewest manufacturing technologies, equipmentand automation to ensure we remain a leader withour flexible manufacturing capabilities and resultingproduct quality. 5 R290 has noozone depletion potential and a very low (<4) GWP (globalwarming potential). Because of it s thermodynamic proper-ties, R290 provides better energy efficiency as well. Solar PowerAs part of our green initiatives program, Minus Forty saw anopportunity to convert our rooftop into a power generator andreduce our overall environmental footprint. The end result saw the installation of a 250kW rooftop solararray that has been producing power since early Foam InsulationThe foam insulation we use today contains no ozone haz-ardous chemicals, no ODP and no GWP (not the norm in theindustry) also it contains no VOC s (Volatile Organic Com-pounds). Paperless OperationsMinus Forty further expanded it s green initiative by convertingour offices to paperless operations. Based on the success inour offices, the program has expanded to our manufacturingareas where operators rely on tablets to receive work ordersand instructions.
